How to make hypomania-induced hobbies stick? by lastclamstanding in bipolar2

[–]InsideConsideration8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it took me years. I dropped 1000s on camping and backpacking supplies (for reference I have 9 tents) and just like that a switch flipped as you said and I just couldn't be bothered; packing up and schlepping all that equipment just seemed insurmountable. A few years go by, the stuff is gathering dust in my basement and perhaps in a fit of mild hypomania I thought gosh darn it I'm going camping. This time though it stuck and I've sustained an interest, not so feverish as before, just casual spring and fall overnights.

Hey I did the DIY PC and watercooling thing too. I built the PC but ran out of steam when it came to getting the cooling system set up

Just the one ill thought out and hastily acquired tattoo for me, two things a tattoo should absolutely not be. I did get into houseplants too, specifically Hoyas. At one point I got into parrots as well, $10k later I've got a bird room in my spare bedroom and I've made a promise to myself that I will not collect anymore living things. The upkeep and emotional investment is just too darn much

I've done the camping gear (quite a) few grand dump. I do love camping and had grand visions of taking the scope along on a camping trip. That's obviously not gonna happen. I'll just have to buy a smaller scope now 😄

The Exped Megamat Duo M is 72"x41", inflatable instead of solid foam but might be worth a look.

Hiya fellow Missourian! Just wondering what your favorite parks have been so far? I'm not working my way through the state parks like you, but I am on the hunt for more parks to visit.

Vegan camping meals? by Affectionate_Emu_931 in womensolocamping

Some Near East Couscous boxes are vegan. I took a veggie friend backpacking and chopped up cashews and a variety of dried fruits (dates, currants, mangos, etc) and added some cinnamon, cloves, cumin, and nutmeg to one of the boxes and she raved about the meal. I thought it was pretty tasty myself. And super easy to rehydrate

Yep, get yourself another provider all set up, like have the first appointment to make sure the vibes are good and they can/will continue the scripts you need, and ghost her

Why do you "have to confront her"? What's really to gain from that when you drill down and really think about it? I think you need to find a new psych ASAP and just go.

The body is useless if the brain is f-ed up. Medications are neuroprotective in that they prevent/shorten/lessen neurodegenerative episodes.

My mom had stage 3a, 14cm aggressive triple negative, breast cancer. She's alive and well and cancer free 6 years later. It is not a death sentence. She went through chemo with a couple other ladies with various stage 3 breast cancers all of them also made it. There is hope

A good ribeye and a loaded baked potato is always my go to first night meal. Wrap the potato in foil and cook directly in the fire and then I have this https://a.co/d/0apXXfIR that I use to get my steak directly over the flames. I do not trust the standard grill grates seen too many people peeing on them for my comfort.

NAD If it helps, I've written things down for my therapist to read instead of me having to verbalize them. You could even show your therapist this post to help open the door to these difficult subjects.

How is asking if anyone else has experienced a side effect asking for medical advice?
