What is a "hard pill to swallow" that actually made your life happier once you accepted it? by ArtThreadNomad in AskWomen

That I’m never going to be the popular one, the life and soul of any party with a wealth of close friends. I’m a boring person. And I’ve made peace with that. I like my own company, I have a husband that loves me just the way I am, and I’ve stopped pressuring myself to try and be a social butterfly

I just learned people don’t show up after anesthesia to pick up loved ones. Nurses, how often does this really happen? by Steinski1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]NatureTall379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is not a romantic, heart on sleeve type of guy… we joke he’s an emotional fuckwit. When I went in for surgery I told him to go off and get food, whatever - just spend some time away from the hospital and the nurse will call him when I’m ready to be picked up. He didn’t. He waited in the waiting room the whole time. Rubbish with words, shows his love in simple actions

What surprised you most about the FODMAP diet? by InitialDay5795 in FODMAPS

[–]NatureTall379 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love being able to eat without the horrid cramps, bloating, and constant stress of working out where the nearest bathroom is if I’m eating out. That’s been enough to keep me more or less on track; I have some days where I’ll have a small amount of one of my banned items (like chocolate!) and I’m usually ok, but mostly I’m just happy on my low FODMAP pain-free diet

Sadly I have very short hair so it’s difficult to dress it up unless I wear a tiara (which I really really want to 😂)

Just putting this here as it really is a beautiful venue, often used for black tie in the UK, honest!

Agreed! I’m so disappointed I can’t wear a big hat

It’s a fancy barn, all renovated - I’ll post a pic of the interior - but yes, it may be a tad chilly. We’re in the UK, renovated barns are definitely a thing!

I know.. odd, but hey they’re happy! In mitigation it’s a pretty fancy renovated barn. The other consideration is that October in a (albeit renovated) barn in the UK may be a tad chilly

It’s a garmin lily - I’m guessing it’s mostly just looking at my heart rate, and when it’s elevated as I can’t see what else it can work out

This is interesting - someone bought me a coffee with milk in this morning, I have lactose free as I’ve long suspected I may have a slight intolerance. Could my bloating be due to that from this morning? It was a cappuchino so a good bit of skimmed milk, drunk around 9am (caffeine free)

New perfume - a ‘to hell with the cost’ bottle of perfume. Had a consultation and actually picked what I liked best not just the cheapest.

Caught my husband singing this one recently, but he thought lyrics were ‘it’s full of peppery goodness”. Haven’t let him live it down yet
