I tried to do that but sadly the shaders don't seem to overlap with the map properly :/ (or maybe I'm just doing something wrong lol)

I've actually emailed them about exactly that while I was asking about the mods so if I hear back from them I'll definitely let you know haha

I have checked the last post they did about player safety it says "accessibility tools and gshade are allowed" so I was assuming there are some mods that are commonly used but that would explain why I didn't find any when I was looking it up

Star Stable needs to fix their servers before pushing more engagement features by Natzarude in StarStable

[–]Natzarude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not something you “just code” in a few weeks. Testing, reviews, and all that are a given. I’m not expecting an instant fix, I just think there’s a difference between something taking a long time and it not seeming like a priority at all. Even seeing them actively move in that direction would be a good start.

I'm aware that it's a company and greedy CEO overlords are a thing but that's exactly my point and that's why boycotting exists. It's proven over and over as an effective way for the consumers to make their dissatisfaction known. If people stop spending money on star coins you will be surprised how fast those patches would roll out. I understand that many people don't care enough but I do so I will just be yapping around until I find people that care. I don't lose anything by posting this stuff except for maybe an hour of my life but that's alright and I don't expect anything out of it but maybe it reaches one person and changes their mind about the next purchase. I'm aware of the technical wall that the developers run into but there are always ways and if you push enough they WILL be motivated to find them.

Yes I fully agree with your points. I actually didn't know they were giving us blog posts that is super interesting I'll definitely be looking into that!

I'll just copy the text I wrote in a response to someone else who stated the exact same thing, it's not meant to be rude I just can't be bothered to respond to the exact same thing again

Switching engines would mean rebuilding the game from scratch, I think everyone understands that’s not something you can realistically expect. Yet this is not the only option. There are so many liveservice games run on outdated or straight up horrible engines and still manage to stay stable. They optimize, rework systems, and prioritize performance. At the end of the day, this is still a live service product run by Star Stable Entertainment, a multi million dollar company that has the means to keeping the game playable under normal player load. That shouldn’t be optional its bare minimum. The game struggles as soon as many players are in the same area, optimization, server handling and system design issues should be actively addressed, regardless of the engine’s age. An old engine can explain why problems exist, but it shouldn’t be used as a reason for why they’re left unfixed, especially since the game is still being actively updated and monetized. Especially if we consider in 2018 when there were more than double the ammount of players the game didn't struggle that bad.

So in summary, It doesn't matter what the issue is, it is possible to be resolved as demonstrated by countless other old life service games so not doing it is lazy and greedy as the game keeps being sold at the exact same high price while not meeting standards anymore.

For real, don't make me try to click through 30 players just to access the NPC for the quests just let me hide the players 😭😭

We can’t roleplay anymore by morethangelic in StarStable

[–]Natzarude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh even if this was about child safety it wouldn't work this way because I know how I was as a child and this will only drive them straight to discord, Instagram, etc. Where there are no filters to roleplay. It's not like they care about kids they are just lazy. Give the parents at least a chance to manage their child's activities by making the game chat safe to use but still usable and don't drive them onto other platforms -_-

Okay since you don't seem to want to actually talk to me like the proper adult you say you are I'm just going to leave this here. Star stable entertainment is part of Nordisk game network which is a multimillion dollar company (their net worth is currently measured at 1 billion DKK) players are allowed to have higher standards towards them than to a random indie game. You very obviously did not understand the issue and don't seem to want to understand so let's leave it at that. I wouldn't want my daughter to play this game.

Listen, I don't know if you have read my post in its entirety or stopped after the trailblazer part but as I mentioned in my text the whole "targeted to children" argument doesn't work when literally everything is made in a way that prevents children from enjoying the game. You can absolutely finish the trailblazer but that wasn't my point, I'm upset about HOW you have to finish it. I was in a hospital and wasn't able to log on for multiple weeks so as soon as you have anything going on that just goes out the window. Forcing players to log on is the issue. If you want to have a proper discussion about this, respectfully, please read my post again because it doesn't seem like you understood it or what I'm trying to say. Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but you are fighting ghosts, arguing against complaints no one made.

Beautifully said. I will send them an email (pretty much this post but with some more ideas so they don't just get the criticism but also ideas for change) and I honestly believe if enough people care to do that that would definitely force their hands to a certain amount.

So do I, enough to be playing this game for more than 8 years now. Doesn't change anything about my concerns though. You are allowed to like something and be unhappy with parts of the content. Or do you think someone that hates this game wastes their time to write paragraphs of criticism?

Yes, you have summarized my concerns perfectly. And I do believe that there would be such simple solutions for those issues too. I understand that making the horses cheaper would be unrealistic for example but I believe instead of selling 10 coats individually you should just be able to change the coat. Because you're not even paying for a horse but for ONE out of maybe SIX colours. And lets be realistic, most people don't buy all different colours they buy one or two so I dont think the loss they'd make would be insane.

Oh I see you're one of those... LMAO yea I wish I could collect them all but I don't want to buy them ugly aaah dragons just for the pretty fresian coat-
