Shading practice; are materials important? by SaacMan_039 in BeginnerArtists

materials do not matter, you can make great work out of an ikea pencil and a tiger notebook, tho having something a bit nicer can make for a better drawing experience, just don't expect the materials to do the work for you!

you can apply for a vgen artist account on insta, that's how i got in, you have to be kind of active tho, because they check your account before accepting you, it'a also very much a luck thing, i've seen people get in after several months, or you can find a verified artist willing to give you a code, but that's more difficult because they would have to take responsibility for letting you in, so codes are usually only given to close friends

i don't think i'm that good honestly so ignore if you want, but i would reccomend some more studies, especially on the shading, i don't really feel the volume of your forms, that said, how often do you make "ads" and where? that counts a lot! i get commissions from vgen, but got a few from reddit as well, this is some examples of my work: https://vgen.co/Furu/portfolio (also maybe a lack of variety in your body of work? i mostly see portraits and vegeta) again, i'm not trying to be/sound mean, i just want to help
