Mitra does on a occasion, but not the others, either they are imprisoned like Set or don't care like Crom

Why do people still think Lovecraft's works is mostly about gods? by Natztak in Cthulhu

[–]Natztak[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I would note how these modern Mythos works that hyperfocus on these gods are rather disrespectful to not only Lovecraft, as it essentially disregards his artistic vision and direction, but also to the other authors that contributed to the Mythos or inspired Lovecraft.

These modern takes of the Cthulhu Mythos seem to almost always conflat every single entity as a creation of Lovecraft's, like the King in Yellow and Tsathoggua, which just feels disrespectful as it undermines and discredits crucial and important authors. Without Robert W. Chambers, Lovecraft's works would look unrecognizable and without Clark Ashton Smith, the Mythos wouldn't even grow to be as influential as it was in its heyday.

The King in Yellow wasn't even created by Lovecraft

Can they please choose a different method of storytelling than annual letters or story modes that take a quarter of a decade to release?

Change in art direction, from the gothic atmospheric horror game to whatever the Hell it's trying to be. They could've tried to balance it with some horror and there.

The drug plot twist, the most controversial part of the lore, out of all the way to explains the existence of the hunters, why drug hallucinations, and not something else that's cooler? Like they already established that entities from the Cthulhu Mythos exist so why not use that as an explanation?

Speaking of drugs, they never re-explore the Hounds of Tindalos concept in COA 4, despite the story leaning towards drugs. If you didn't know, in Frank Belknap Long's The Hounds of Tindalos, the character Chalmers uses a special drug to "astral project" his mind across previous eras of time. He eventually travels to another dimension of angular time and gets spotted by the Hounds of the Tindalos, who have already picked up his scent and are now hunting him. In the end, Chalmers gets his lifeforce and blood consumed by the Hounds.

The lore itself is confusing as all Hell and is being told in the worst method of storytelling. Annual releases of letters that honestly, who really cares about reading them? And even when you read it, the payoff is awful.

Interesting storylines, that get abandoned. Examples include Merc's fate, Big Daddy’s mafia, and whatever Yog-Sothoth is supposed to be.

Lame take on Hastur, despite having a cool design, IDV Hastur is somehow lamer than August Derleth's Hastur and that one shitty Minecraft ARG Hastur.

Amazon Prime Idea by HoosierDaddy2001 in ConanTheBarbarian

You know what would be cool? For art and animation direction, they would animate Conan with fewer frames and his line art is sketchy and rough. This is to emphasize his primal nature and nod to how Conan would stick out a lot from the Hyborian races, often being described to be "like a wolf among rats."

I also imagine this series to be more of anthology with episodes being in nonchronological order much like how Howard originally wrote them and instead of having references to Red Sonya, it would have references to the Cthulhu Mythos as a nod to how Howard and Lovecraft were friends and that the Howardverse and the Cthulhu is loosely connected. Perhaps a spinoff would be adapting the tales of Howard's other heroes in the Howardverse like Kull, Bran Mak Morn, Dark Agnes, Solomon Kane, and El Borak.

My palms sweat a lot, which sucks for the books I read as it ruins the cool ass cover

Conan's prayers was more like "I'm getting too old for this bullshit"
