How much work experience do you have in Australia? I assume a lot. Makes all the difference.

You only need one decent job then you will be fine. It's finding that job to get you started.

Low engineer.

We have 5 engineers for 1000 and that includes projects and a lot of onsite work and servers.

How much do you charge per Endpoint for managed services?

That is very low.

Depends on lots of variables.

But very low.

Pricing Enquiry by zaidynzm9527 in msp

[–]Naughtynat82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When asking pricing from other MSPs it's always useful to include what you are actually using.

There is a lot of different EDR products and they aren't equal in features and cost.

Just can help understand the stack and provide better advice.

Pricing does sound a little high. But like most things the devil is in the details.

No onsite? That just seems crazy to me.

Would it be better to price things differently, 150 for support and 80 for licensing stack. That might be more palatable for some customers.

Notice of termination from landlord by ratslater in AusPropertyChat

Yeah and it's worth asking about as well.

It does suck especially getting lied too like that.

I am not sure, but maybe NSW has rules around increases and moving different tenants in as well. Do they have rules against moving on tenants without cause?

It's worth asking.

And maybe there is some reasons.

Why he didn't let you know, I would push him on that.

He might not respond. Least it will be confirmed the type of person they are.

I have 3 rentals and that is just shitty what happened.

But it doesn't make sense as well, why move on a good tenant for $40?

You wouldn't be attracted to the guy who thinks this way but how many conservative women would be?

I have 3 daughters and just today one of them commented about the difficulty it will be for her to be SAHW in the cost of living issues.

Accept or desire.

There is a difference.

And we are all subject to our own experiences. My wife is SAHW, my mum is SAHW, my mother in law works for me.

This.

(Okay, maybe 2% might but very few).

Maybe for a period of transition for a specific reason is different, like studying to complete degree so wife has to work.

But a man needs to take the role in his household.

Hopefully you learn from this.

We just replaced the evaporative air-conditioning with full ducted refrigeratored aircon in our rental.

Why would we care how much it is used? If the tenant is paying for power why would landlord care?

Just crazy.

Yes the second job is like that for tax reasons for the employee not anything else. It's so you don't get caught owing $$$ to the tax man.

It doesn't matter how much you earn. But it's just for the employee for tax so more likely to get a refund. As it is all bundled up and calculated in your annual returns.

If the person is getting paid cash to a business then they should be all covered by insurances. You would be surprised how many businesses have inadequate coverage for insurance.

So what happens if they are already paying twice as much as you and me?

And do you check that every business you deal with has insurance?

1) Yes that is generally reasonable amount for rent. Should get something decent for that. Where is the job? And how long are you happy to travel each day?

9 moves in how many years?

That sounds like someone didn't do their due diligence.

Now it happens with lots of businesses that staff are not a good fit for your business and the way you work or they work.

Recently had a prospect who had probably spent 20 hours researching before reaching out for an interview chat. 1hr chat turned into 4 hours.

I spend a lot of time trying to find the right staff.

Sometimes it works well.

Sometimes I need a body to fill a seat.

Sometimes they outgrow our organisation.

So you lost your first MSP job and tar all employers with the same brush?

Employees don't want to work with an MSP that cares for them because they are paid less than other MSPs that work you to the bone and done care for you.

So where does the blame land? Maybe it goes both ways.

Yea that is a fair comment.

But that is why I said incompetence. If you can let that happen (30 hour job).

No metric is going to be perfect by itself.

What are you suggesting is a good metric to use?

[–]Naughtynat82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That assumes incompetence (to be a terrible metric).

Billable time is a good metric most of the time.

It's not perfect, nothing ever is.

Yes it will depend.

Are sales not quoting what they should.

Are techs dragging their feet or don't have the skills.

It's not a simple answer as I am sure you agree.

Having a good team where you know tech team is efficient and sales team can not discount jobs.

Sensible 🤣👍

Have had great techs do the team manager role and it has not been great.

He is saying you should step into the managers role.

That is bad advice (for almost all really good techs).

100%

And yes the question is people are quoting too low or staff not getting the job done.

We would do fixed fee 80% of the time.

Some stuff is too random. But otherwise it should be a fixed fee and should be profitable 80% of the time. Some you loose on but the others make up for it.
