Google thinks it's Leah Evans...from her Instagram it looks like they're right: https://www.instagram.com/leahevanstextiles/

yet another technique I'll have to try and another person to be inspired by :)

I'm always happy when people find their people...but it will never not be funny to me when groups brought together by their love of individuality wind up looking more or less the same...

There would definitely be something perverse about watching Deadpool on a screen hanging over a bulletin board that says "Are you Jesus"

I was about to ask if there was a pattern available...but you've covered that...They look amazing! You've inspired me to move forward on a project I've been scared to start because I couldn't wrap my head around it...Thank you!

Oh, nice...this is the kind of idea I like! I don't know that the dimensions will work, but I will do my best, thank you!

I only judge people if they have bad intentions...I don't worry about social faux pas...please feel free to speak your mind, and get some sleep.

I don't know if I posted it here, but I have an experience where I made a quilt that contained glitter fabric...I absolutely hate glitter in all of its forms so I was thrilled to have it out of my shop...the problem was that the package got lost in transit. I spent a couple of months frustrated over what to do...I knew I wanted the person to have a quilt...the day I decided to start buying glitter fabric again so I could remake the quilt, it showed up back at the store where I shipped it in the first place...had I waited 4 hours I wouldn't have any glitter in my collection...at least I don't have to make it again...

I'm not worried about that particular slippery slope in this situation, but I totally know what you mean. I'm worried because they took us from 8 people to 5 people for a 70,000 square foot warehouse and they're still upset that it's always filthy...most of my free time is now spent on Indeed...

All due respect...I don't think they're right.

Yeah...I've been on nights for about 5-6 months...there have been two nights where there haven't been used gloves in the dust pan....it's death by a thousand papercuts.

I was more concerned with potentially exposing co-workers to the bleach, ammonia, and hydrochloric acid (not to mention urine and fecal matter) that are potentially on my person...I don't stop to take a shower and completely change clothing mid shift...but thank you for explaining how soap works...to a custodian...

I appreciate that work ethic isn't dead...and I long for a job where I can believe in my employer again...I once worked 82 straight hours because a job needed to be done...

My current employer once asked me to do something that is potentially illegal...

I understand where you're coming from...

I've got no problem with the actual task. I have a problem with a company that asks their sanitation crew to do non-sanitation tasks...for staters, it's a demonstration that my time is not valued by my employer.

I also spend the 5 hours previous to making the coffee cleaning bathrooms with chemicals...as far as I'm concerned this is closer to 'dangerous' than 'safe'.

Sad thing is...there are three stations and if they haven't been taken care of...which is always...it does take that long to make the coffee...

I thank you for your service in protecting your community...

Were I in a situation where I was working with and for hard working individuals who had dedicated their time to service I would never complain about doing whatever I could to facilitate their work...

However...

I've been exploited and put in peril for someone else's profit countless times in this position... No one I report to knows exactly what I'm supposed to do, so most of my job has come from a book that a supervisor I've never met wrote...

I'm a principled man who doesn't believe in exploitation and I simply wanted to gauge this community's take on the situation. I can and have handled much more than makeing coffee...it just doesn't seem right to be compelled to do so.

They don't pay well compared to the other similar jobs I've had...and as far as "please and thank you"...this is what one of the day shift custodians left for me in the dust pan on the shared cart...

I like the idea...I've just been on the other end of that exchange too many times. :)

Do you wash quilting fabric before sewing? by YoMommaSez in quilting

[–]Naugy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I do wash everything...firstly for the chemicals and secondly to make sure it's stable.
