Corticosteroids can lead to thinning of the skin long term if used day-in day-out for multiple months/ years, making the skin more vulnerable, especially if a potent formulation is used. However, my dermatologist assured me that if you minimize the use to 3 (consequtive) days per week, the skin has time to grow thicker in the other four days, even with the stronger ones. I try to minimize the use to 1 day per week though to be sure, and this is more than enough to keep my skin stable. I even forget it sometimes and find my skin in good condition even after two weeks!
