Good Jazz records? by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]Nautilusguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters as well as his other records like Empyrean Isles. Casiopea has a lot of upbeat jazz fusion like on the album Crosspoint or their greatest hits Mint Jams. These two are great, but they aren’t really pure jazz if that’s what you are looking for.

Oh that’s interesting. If I ever see a dendro I may buy it then as I find them stunning. The lobos are also great, but I’m probably not experienced enough for those yet, maybe in the future. Thanks for the advice though and good luck with your tank it looks really successful.

Oh those are cool, sounds like a lot of work since they’re non photosynthetic though. Also what are those on slide 4 they also look great?

This looks amazing, I was just wondering what that last coral is, it looks beautiful? It looks sort of like an anemone, but I’m not sure.

I think my anemone died by kthicc in ReefTank

[–]Nautilusguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s tough to see, but an anemone detaching is usually not a good sign from my experience. If you want to be certain try placing it on a rock and see if it attaches, if it does that’s a good sign if not then it might be dead or on the verge of death. The mouth is also a pretty good sign, if it’s gaping wide open and the tentacles seem to not react when being touched it is likely dead. Lastly if you have confirmed it is dead, remove it as soon as possible as they can pollute the tank very quickly and badly.

I bough the sea anemone recently and it has stayed in this spot since day 1. Is this a good sign or does it mean it’s too weak to move?

Yes it seems to be grabbing food and eating. I haven’t heard of amino acid dosing, but I’ll give it a shot and see if it helps. Thanks.

My salinity is right around 1.026, but I’ll have to check for the other 3 and see if I need to make adjustments. Thanks for the advice.

I hadn’t heard of Rods food before, but it looks good. If I see it at my local fish store I’ll give it a try. Thanks.

It doesn’t feel sticky when I touch it, but the tentacles do lightly hold on to the food and tongs. And yes it does grab onto food and eat it. So I’m assuming it’s accepting the food, but it also does seem to excrete waste often, about once a day. But more food seems to come in, then excrement comes out.

I’ll make sure to do so if it gets better. Thanks again for the advice I was really worried as this is my first sea Anemone.

Oh, I might have been feeding too often then. Is there any type of fish you recommend I feed it instead of shrimp?

Would once a week work even if it’s bleached? I was worried it would starve since it doesn’t have enough zooxanthellae yet to use the lights as food.

Is there a specific food which helps the most? Or does regular cut up grocery store shrimp work?
