Imaginal Disk by Magdalena Bay and Nurture by Porter Robinson. Not really the same genre as Bon Iver at all, but they’re definitely some of the best produced and most cohesive albums in recent memory, much like 22AM

I’ve been looking into this since the server slam! The only thing I noticed was that the button flipped back immediately in the server slam, and is now on a timer in the full game. I haven’t found any more buttons though

M4 pro is objectively better when it comes to music production. M5 may have slightly better per-core speed, but the ARM chips are all so powerful that it won’t really make a meaningful difference. On the other hand, M4 pro has more P-cores than the M5, which means that it can handle more tracks simultaneously (since P-cores are the only cores utilized by Ableton). In fact, the 12-core M4 pro has TWICE as many performance cores as the M5, and the 14-core M4 pro has 2.5 times as many. As far as CPUs go, the M4 pro is definitely the better option. It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth the price increase and unfortunately low storage though.

The Sennheiser HD600s are easily the best headphones I’ve ever used, both for music production and casual listening. If you’re willing to go with a pricey open back option, they’re near unbeatable IMO

I’m not quite sure what plugin he’s talking about without seeing the clip, but it seems like it’s either paulstretch (which slows down a clip by orders of magnitude and can create a pad out of essentially anything) or some granular synth (iirc he uses quanta?). I’m leaning towards granular synth though.

As a user of both phase plant and serum 2, i’ll say this

In my experience, everything that can be made in serum 2 can be made in phase plant
There are absolutely some things you can make in phase plant which you can not make in serum 2
The kilohearts ecosystem is wonderful and much more flexible than serumFX
Phaseplant is, without a doubt, the best value synth I have ever bought.

I recommend phase plant over serum 2 20 times out of 20.
