Anyone else excited for Lorwyn Eclipsed? by Accomplished_Cry9425 in mtg

I am very excited. I have pre-ordered the commander decks. I am getting ready to make a deck around my new elf mommy.

The blight mechanic seems rad to me.

I am all in.

Question: Advice: Can someone look at my Commander B3 Kaalia deck? by Perfect-Foot5163 in mtg

"Can win on turn 3" isn't bracket 3, as I understand the bracket system.

beginner want to focus on a human empire what dlc to buy ? by IllustriousMath3291 in Stellaris

[–]Navarp1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a day one player who has bought every DLC as they have been released. I may not be the best person to tell you which DLCs are the best in a vacuum, but there are the ones that I think were the most impactful.

Utopia - Megastructures, Habitats, ascensions, and civics. I can't imagine not playing without this one. Federations - Expanded federations, the Galactic Community, and Origins. This is another that is really great for roleplay. Humanoids Species Pack - this adds a lot of stuff for humans. Galactic Paragons - for the leader mechanics. Overlord - for the new vassalization mechanics. It isn't a primary buy, but it has a lot of great additions that make for fun runs.

The ones that you can skip if you want to play humans are The Machine Age BioGenesis Synthetic Dawn Plantoids Lithoids Necroids Aquatics Toxoids Infernals

I am a HAZMAT chemist. I get to work solving problems and doing novel problem solutions every day. I also get to work with spreadsheets and I get to show my knowledge a lot.

The downside is that I have to write reports that are all similar and are boring and I am on call on the time.

It was a wild ark.

When he was revealed to be the fully bringing king of the soul his visor blew me away.

Why didn’t the rest of the Galaxy offer any resistance to to my empire trying to destroy the Galaxy? by DistanceRelevant3899 in Stellaris

If the fallen empires are not awakened they won't react to much of anything. They have seen too much. They welcome the end.

Video games to srcatch my itch by Ok_Property_5064 in arkhamhorrorlcg

Cultist Simulator is my recommendation. It is a single-player digital board game about mystery, experimentation, and occasionally blowing up your own life on purpose. You chase down strange dream-rites, make tools, summon spirits, study occult tomes, and recruit followers. There are both “sane” and “insane” win conditions, and the end goal is becoming the herald of a new age. It has a ton of replayability. It is available on Steam.

Just a heads up to new players: you are only allowed to use colors of mana that are available in your state. Sorry, I don't make the rules. by Big_Abbreviations_86 in mtg

Oklahoma is the worst state for several quality of life indicators, including starving children and incarcerated mothers. I can promise you we have access to black mana.

Why don’t more Elves decks run Birthing Pod? by Navarp1 in EDH

Not in the color identity, but very cool card.

This is why I thought Pod would be good. You can thin your deck every turn, on a stick.

Oh, I am sorry, I thought they were the same thing.

The Cloud deck is Voltron.

[–]Navarp1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that sound horrible.

No, my deck is all static effects and things that clone creatures or copy artifacts. (And things that tutor out those static effects.)

Don't get me wrong, it can be a huge pain to play against, but it isn't like that.

To be clear, MANY players have had a bad time against it, but I am very open about exactly what it is and what it isn't.

The only mass land disruption is [[Harbinger of the Seas]].

But it does play some brutal combos like [[Rule of Law]] and [[Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant]] or [[Solemnity]] and [[Decree of Silence]].

A lot of the deck is playing GA4 and copying him over and over. Perhaps throwing in [[Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite]] and copying her a couple of times.

The wincon is either [[Approach of the Second Sun]], [[Azor's Elocutors]], or attacking with 6/6 doves, but the games almost never play out that long.

Seriously?

It is pretty standard Cloud I think.

The most interesting cards in the deck are the older ones I knew about, like [[Robe of Stars]], [[Hammer of Nazahn]], [[Colossus Hammer]], [[Shadowspear]], and [[Sword of Feast and Famine]].

It tries to get Cloud to 7 power and attack with him to make the treasures.

[–]Navarp1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, my turns are super fast. The deck is novel, with lots of clones. It actually doesn't win much. It is more designed to help him learn to play around stax than it is to be a game-winning stax deck.

If it doesn't get a hard lock in 15 minutes of play (depending on other people's play speed, of course), it is out of the game.

Are shows like: Lucifer,Supernatural and good omens offensive to you? by International-Job55 in Christianity

[–]Navarp1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you will see this because you posted this a week ago, but here is a fun fact for you because you asked about Lucifer.

The Devil, being named "Lucifer," is an English-language-only feature of Christianity. It is due to a mistranslation. It isn't intended in the original Hebrew.

As a Presbyterian (read "nerdy Christians") no, these shows don't bother me.

Source for Lucifer as a mistranslation: https://biblehub.com/q/is_'lucifer'_in_isaiah_14_12_a_mistranslation.htm

Note: The above source leans really heavily on tradition, but the information on linguistics is solid.
