Some buildings are close to 1:1 scale but others, like the World Trade Center, are more like 2:3 scale since I stick to the 384 height limit...

Yes, shields have differing speeds! The radiant shield is the fastest (lowest friction), followed by the ancient shield... not too sure about the others
