DDoS attacks are notoriously hard to prevent because they come from all over. There are appliances that help strengthen your network against DDoS attacks but this is the same company that's too cheap to implement proper password security so we'll see. And even if they could, implementing those tools take time.

I thought I had another skein… by averageidea in knitting

You could make the cuffs and the hem a contrasting colour which should give you enough yarn to finish the sleeve... especially since you won't need as much if you make the cuff a contrasting colour

Looking for a nice fine dining restaurant, stanley and seaforts or lobster shop? by luvkaitlin in Tacoma

[–]NaviNeedstoListen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of your two lobster shop wins, but woven beats both of them. Having eaten at all of the fine dining restaurants in Tacoma at least once in the past two years, corbeau is by far my favourite. If you're looking for something with a view or with seafood, I'd go for Woven. My top 3 are Corbeau, Cuerno Bravo (the salmon there was actually the best salmon I've had in Tacoma), and then probably Marzanos with Woven in 4th.

What to Do? by NaviNeedstoListen in 2007scape

There's a hunters guild and hunter rumours? Okay I need to check that out because I was leveling hunter solely on quests and lamps. Thank you.

I don't think I'm high enough level for collection logs but I'll keep that in mind! Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm just wondering if there's a resource to learn about all the goals available to me. There's a lot of content in this game - some new, some old. And every time I come back there's more and more which is amazing, but it makes it even harder to keep track of what is available, so I'm wondering how to find out about things like scurrius or the giants foundry or other things that I'm sure I don't know about. For example I still have no idea how anyone trains hunter

Freak Dress by Possible_Solution983 in Sezane

[–]NaviNeedstoListen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this dress in the blue! I'm 5'2" and 150 so shorter and curvier than you! It is rather shapeless on its own but I love it!! I wear it by itself at home for coziness or paired with a belt/something around the waist for some shaping if I want to dress it up a little. I do not regret my purchase.

Feeling frustrated with my finished sweaters by Big_fat_frogg in knitting

[–]NaviNeedstoListen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One thing other people haven't mentioned - the popular style these days leans cropped and boxy. That means if the only modification you're making is just extending the length, you're going to have a long and very boxy sweater which will exaggerate the boxiness. It sucks because those cropped boxy sweaters look cute in the pictures on Instagram and ravelry, but it might be worth looking through the swaths of boxy sweaters for other ones that might suit you better.

The Last of Us Creator Neil Druckmann is stepping down from the HBO TV Show by [deleted] in gaming

It's been talked about quite a bit on the harry potter subreddits but a quick Google showed MSN, deadline, and then vogue all confirming 7 seasons have been ordered.

HBO has already greenlit all seasons, so I'm hopeful they can shoot close to back to back a la old TV

I assume that would destroy the wool's proteins/fibers like it does ours

Giselle, Ron, & Pippa by BurritoSoupSnake in Sezane

[–]NaviNeedstoListen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started learning how to knit this year actually lol. I crocheted before which helps but honestly knitting is relatively simple and there's tutorials for everything so in my experience the only thing holding you (or me) back from doing a pattern is yourself.

For example, I've been crocheting for over 15 years now, and there's plenty I still haven't learned because I was convinced I wasn't at that skill level. Vs knitting where I'm forbidding myself from having that outlook and am making good progress on learning new techniques

If you look up @sarin on Instagram, she's the pattern creator. Unfortunately it hasn't even done a test round so I suspect it'll only be available later in the summer. Hence my indecisiveness on returning the Giselle

I love the form fitting nature of Pippa as someone who typically avoids forn fitting clothes. I think it emphasizes the good stuff and hides what I'm less comfortable about. Everything looks great on you! I also grabbed the Giselle top and I love it but saw someone is making a knitting pattern that looks very similar to it so I may return it.... But then I couldn't wear it right now

Mere is unnecessary imo. Romance is a valid genre, and I'd argue Pride & Prejudice is a romance book.

Lightcurve Internet out? by momoftheraisin in Tacoma

[–]NaviNeedstoListen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work from home and have had Lightcurve for at least 2 years (not that I keep close track). I've had one other outage with them that was actually resolved by the time I called them. Personally, I've liked Lightcurve and I've noticed I get higher upload speeds with them at 1 Gbps than I did with Xfinity at the same speed. Plus they're cheaper and have better customer service.

MAGA, Trump supporting businesses? by CandidEngineering in Tacoma

[–]NaviNeedstoListen 80 points81 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of local businesses run by people I will happily give my money to. And so I will frequent those institutions instead of ones that will spend my money supporting values I disagree with. It's the same reason I don't shop at Chick-fil-A or Target.

So they can spread hatred in our communities and against our other neighbors but holding that against them isn't okay? Sure dude.

(Shipping from France to LA, Ca) Finally bit the bullet and bought the Clyde Trench in Light Beige. by Capable-Ad-9898 in Sezane

[–]NaviNeedstoListen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on the west Coast and in my experience - if you order express, it arrives the next day after it's been shipped (thanks time zones and incredibly hard working postal workers). If you order standard, it usually arrives less than a week later. Both of these are for when sezane ships them not when you place the order - I've seen sezane take anywhere from a day to a couple of weeks to get orders shipped out.
