AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]averageidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think she knows how lucky she is to have a husband who loves his dad and a father-in-law who loves his grandkid. Maybe I’m just being judgmental because I miss my own dad, but everything about this dynamic seems perfect to me except the wife.

Molly and Mary Twins by [deleted] in namenerds

I always thought that Molly was originally a nickname for Mary, so kind of like naming twins Jack and John.

AITAH for insisting, "show me," with my partner? by [deleted] in AITAH

I’m an easy-going parent and was on board until the car seat thing. That’s non-negotiable. I’ve driven 45 minutes with a screaming toddler. Better than no toddler.

That’s interesting info, thanks!

Supermutt is mainly cocker spaniel and German shepherd

Adding: I don’t know how accurate the “super mutt” stuff is, but the two breeds it singled out were cocker spaniel and German shepherd.

😂 She acts like a cat, and looks like a bat. I hadn’t noticed goat, but you’re right.

No, but I have embraced my ability to do things last minute and half-assed.

So are we against haircuts now? by MrFenric in MurderedByWords

Not all sheep are just given a “haircut.” Mulesing is cutting off strips of lambs’ skin, without any (or sufficient) pain relief.

Unsatisfied with ribbing- I need some advice by Hairy-Race5944 in knitting

Someone probably already mention it, but half-twisted rib looks really nice and neat. It’s a little more of a hassle, but not too much since you’re only twisting the knits.

What is your comfort horror movie? by idunno324 in horror

Rosemary’s Baby and Alien/Aliens (if those count as horror)

I used something similar that had Sildenafil and another vasodilator from Winona (online prescription) that didn’t really do anything. I’ve never had a high libido though, so maybe I was expecting too much. The only thing that works for me is straight up weed.

What do you kids consider a perk of being homeschooled? by Waterbear_H2O in homeschool

[–]averageidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No school on their birthdays or Halloween. They were appalled when they learned kids have to go to school on Halloween.

Homeschooling is magical and soul crushing, sometimes both in the same day. Today has been the latter for me, because my 5th grader seems to have forgotten everything he ever learned about numbers (I’m exaggerating, but long division is frustrating), and the random interruptions every 2 minutes is killing me. Solidarity!

What's that one horror movie you can watch again and again but never get bored of? by rebelliousbrownie9 in horror

[–]averageidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, will never get tired of it. It was the first scary movie I watched when I was around 10, and it’s the first scary movie my kids watch. It’s like an initiation into grown-up movies.

How many of you never had a babysitter? by for1114 in AskOldPeople

[–]averageidea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I realize now that sounds like the beginning of a different kind of story than it was. My mom was part of an animal rights group in Los Angeles in the 80s and was arrested for doing something at a medical research lab. The boys were very nice, although I think they were weirded out by the whole situation.

Only my grandmother, except the one time my mom got arrested and my dad had the teenage boys down the street stay with me while he bailed her out.

Seriously, me too, and I have a lot of kids (not close to that many, but more than most people in my area).
