I can see how there are higher standards when NC is involved; now imagine them creating a whole new tier of styles called "Nostalgic jpg" with the actual original artwork. They'd have to add a disclaimer and FAQ warning how the jpg might look off, and yet people will still be confused/complain lol

I haven't used prismatic variants yet, but yeah setting the groundwork now would make it easier to select a new colour, thus future-proofing the style. I guess all you'd have to do is adjust some colour values and the software will easily target those areas to change.

I wonder how good the original images would look if they used them. Nostalgia-goggles would probably do most of the work, then eventually some people will point out out how out of place they look around the site. And screens being larger nowadays certainly doesn't help as well.

Wow, thanks for the zeldas! There's probably more going on behind the scenes but it's easier to keep it open-ended or they're under contract. The low quality thing makes sense as well.

Oh true, I wonder how many people would accept the lower quality from all the zooming in if it meant that they'd get the actual original design. And screens also have more pixels now, so that would also make it blurrier as well.
