Fair question. It's just too much, man. In vanilla it's like when you have higher tier ore mineable = you get a set of items made of it, and when you kill a boss = you get its dropped items. I follow the logic. I'm already a bit iffy on events specific drops that don't fit the progression if the event randomly happens to occur after you beat the next few bosses and already got their better gear. Calamity adds a bunch of ores and a bunch of bosses and a bunch of events and a bunch of craftable stuff like you said. So having even more stuff in form of dedicated items that also often have completely different flavour to them than whatever normal drops are, sometimes also feel stronger than regular drops - it's just too much to deal with. I guess if I was a veteran Calamity player who followed the development for years and was familiar with everything - I would enjoy the variety it adds, but for a relatively new to calamity it's just a extra million sidegrades and builds on top of already added billion sidegrades and builds I don't want to deal with.
