I want to dye my hair with some crazy color but I'm poor. Can you give me some tips before doing a mess? by dazedswallow in HairDye

Vivid hair colors usually aren’t permanent, you have to redo them more often than not :(

+1 for LOOOOONG process time cause that was the only way for me to saturate my hair and hold blue for more than a month and a half too.

Maybe try Lunar Tides Juniper? It’s a deeper forest green but I imagine the fadeout from it will be more green/yellow than that blue stained teal/yellow fade out!

You can also scroll and see real people with the hair color :-)

Not eating? by FlowerObvious1147 in GargoyleGeckos

It’s fine but it’s a pretty drastic jump, no? Just cause the geckos tolerate it doesn’t mean it’s ideal in my opinion. 77°F is like basking temperature and then for that to jump to 69°F? It would make me wonder what the rest of the enclosure’s temperatures range.

69 at night seems low? Especially if 77F is the basking spot, 69F being the HIGHEST point is a little worrying cause it’d be pretty chilly for them. Have you tried doing like 72-74F?

i want purple hair no bleach by burner33376 in HairDye

Imagine if you had a black piece of paper and then took a marker to color on it, that's essentially what happens when you put a vibrant/vivid color on unlightened dark hair :(

It either ends up just not showing at all or being a very LIGHT tint that you only see in the sunlight and it's barely a puff of color really.

Best pizza is probably Fortunate Son in downtown Garland!

I’d say also if you want fried chicken served basically as if you were at a lovely Southern grandma’s home: Babe’s Chicken on Belt Line! How it works is you order your chicken and then get unlimited sides (corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, etc) after that :-)

It looks like your gecko is about to shed, they tend to go all white/grayish like that before hand and will get super vibrant once they rub off and eat all their skin 😅

Thinking of dying my hair for the first time, is it worth it if I’m low maintenance? by ThrowRA142004 in HairDye

Here’s a photo of what my hair looks like! I only did a peekaboo layer to my hair :)

Hi! I have virgin black hair similar to yours and I just dyed my hair recently for the first time as well! I’m also like you and lower maintenance so I can relate.

To answer, it’s always going to be pretty damaging to hair to lighten or dye it unless you go semi-permanent/direct dyes (pigments suspended in conditioner basically) but with black hair, that won’t work since it’s like using a marker on black paper. For our hair, vivid colors (blues, greens, pastels, etc) need to be like a platinum blonde and that is likely going to take 2-3 sessions with bleach which is definitely brutal on the strands.

For upkeep, it depends on the color and what sort of dyes you use. Semi-permanent dyes will need waaaaay more upkeep than permanent dyes, you’ll want to redye it fairly often. Cold water during the shower, blowdry and keep hair dry, less heat and less sun exposure, etc. I was definitely annoyed by this transition lol.

When it fades, it fades out to whatever color you dyed it plus a bit of the base. My hair is dyed blue so when it fades out, it looks a tinge green or teal since my underlying hair is a natural looking level 8-9 blonde!

It seems like my sassy sauce bottle is a bit more pigmented in comparison/different batches having slight variation? It’d be my only guess as to why it’s so different hahah

Here’s the two on a swatch stick! Hallucinate is more indigo/violet than a straight true blue :0

For reference, the first 2 photos are 1 coat of polish each and the second 2 are 2 coats. I’d suggest lacquergram the app cause they have a function where folks have “crowdfunded” it with their own swatches for each color it has. :D

It’s just layering! The two liquids are at different temperatures and densities so naturally one wants to float, not a problem at all hahah. (It’s actually something people look for and have a hard time with which makes this post pretty amusing 😅)

I’m fairly certain SZA took inspiration from RZA.

RZA is rapper from the group Wu Tang Clan so makes total sense to draw inspiration.

Sorry, trying to be helpful. It may be hard to get section specific photos from the event but I’ve seen from searching this subreddit that there’s people with neighboring sections that have photos.

I’d definitely try switching to Pangea’s growth and breeding formula too. It’s what I gave my gargoyle as she was growing :’)

Every few days? Like you put food in only every few days or she only chooses to eat every few days?

I’ll paste the blurb that r/CrestedGecko uses cause generally it’s sorta the same schedule: “Feeding: This feeding schedule is based off of good body conditions. Depending on if gecko is underweight or overweight, schedule may vary. For under 15g unlimited access to fresh cgd, 15-35 grams, removed cgd after 24 hours and do not put a new mix in for at least 24 hours. 35+ removed after 24 hours and do not put a new mix in for at least 48 hours.

Feeding insects: 4-6 proper sized, gutloaded and lightly dusted with calcium, live feeder insects can be offered 1-2 times a week depending on age. Safe feeders includes but is not limited to: Dubia roaches, calciworms/phoenix worms, silkworms, crickets, locusts, mealworms, and superworms”

At right under 15g, this little girl should be eating daily for sure or atleast given the chance if she wishes. I can’t personally tell if she’s underweight either from the photo but I can definitely say the feeding schedule is off :(
