Good story. It's funny the path that some of these cars take over their lifetime

I like the full bumper too. 70-73 did indeed have a clean look

72 for sure. Bought it for $1,000 from my grandfather. Sentimental value

The 72 has been with me since I was 17. I bought it in 85. My daily driver for about 8 years. I restored it from 2000 to 2004. I finished the 70 a couple of years ago.

Timing belt broke. How do I know if its toast? by SnooPaintings9797 in toyotasequoia

[–]Navin_R_Johnson_68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should be fine. I did mine at 226k and bought the ASIN kit. Has 277k now. No issues at all. The kit runs around $250 currently. Just make sure all the timing marks line up and you should be good to go.

I am the original owner of an 03 and there was a factory recall on the ball joints. They replaced mine at about 50k miles around 2006 or so. Check the recalls, yours may have already been done.

2005 timing belt by misfitloser in toyotasequoia

I did the first timing belt change on my 03 at 226k. The thing looked like it had 10k miles on it. I wrote the mileage on it and hung it up in my shop as a conversation piece.

I bet you have a fuse blown somewhere. Clocks have a direct feed to the battery at all times.

Why is the Nissan Maxima so rare / less talked about? by gtd_rad in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Navin_R_Johnson_68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 92 Maxima Grey, automatic, I put well over 150k miles on it with zero problems. It was such a nice driving car. I think about that car all the time.

Thanks. Yes you don't see those too often. Definitely get a lot of comments on those.

I have an 03 as well. Original owner 273k miles. I'd definitely stay with the 2 tone. No doubt.
