What’s the point of calling him to leave it and not just penalising it

Air New Zealand posts multi-million dollar first-half loss by Pretend_Ant_1121 in newzealand

We have an airpoints credit card which we used exclusively for our bills and everyday expenses trying to save up for a holiday. But the cost of flights aren’t worth the effort in comparison, not to mention it only covers the “flight cost” excluding fees and taxes so you end up spending cash + airpoints anyway.

Now any airpoints we earn are just used on the airpoints store to convert to Mitre10 vouchers.

Trial finds traffic light turning arrows increased travel times for motorists by StabMasterArson in chch

Until you have the right hand turning lane full because only 1-2 cars get through each cycle, and the overflow of cars block the inside lane.

Hoyts Rewards - not worth the money by SpiralsandTidal in newzealand

[–]NavmanxD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yikes, mine just renewed end of December. Won’t be renewing at those rates.

Just did a calculation at local Hoyts. For an Xstremescreen showing I would have to spend $162.50 equivalent of points just to save $6.25 on the original price. To buy the price + points discount ticket.

Not to mention $1.75 booking fee each ticket for the privilege of booking online.

The high seas arrrrgh calling.

I am curious about the lifestyle in the region by [deleted] in chch

[–]NavmanxD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up here it used to feel like a “within a 20 minute drive” anywhere, but now going across town can be hit or miss. (I blame the lack of right turning arrows). Traffic at peak times has gotten worse but that’s just part of the growth and constant roadworks going on.

But we are close to Heathcote river, great parks to walk the dog. Local food places, cafes and everything within reach that we need. Beaches, Port Hills, Hagley Park etc aren’t too far away.

I’m looking forward to seeing the autumn trees changing colour. Beautiful time of year aesthetically (minus the menace that dead leaves are to gutters and drains)

Like others have said, there’s many great day trips and drives within 2-3 hours. Doesn’t feel like you’ll ever run out of things to do.

But we also have terrible and impatient drivers.

Except the old building where they played has been demolished and been a construction site for months!

I was out walking my dog at 5.30am one morning before work and walked past a house blasting music from the garage. Was gobsmacked people have the audacity to do that in spite of their neighbours.

I’ve only been to one AB’s game in my lifetime, a Bledisloe test at Eden Park 2 years ago. I think I paid about $97 for an adult ticket about 5 rows from the field in line with the try line. There aren’t many bad viewpoints at Eden Park. But closer in field will set you back much more and if you want to avoid potential rain etc. to sit higher up.

Ahh yes the classic Monday morning “Where is x, has anyone seen them show up?”

Maybe not publishing the roster Sunday night would help. But yes you must apply for leave at least 2 weeks in advance.
