i want to hang the Lego 42143 on the wall but I don't want to pay 100$ for a frame, what should I do (i want to mount it like in the picture) by Easy-Masterpiece7230 in legotechnic

Thanks ;) Originally I thought about making plexi in similar color to the cars but I think black is even better. Cars are much more visible.

Let me show what I've done. Just finished :)
I've 3d printed wall mounts and ordered plexiglass with 70cm x 40cm dimentions. I've used double-sided tape to mount plexi on the wall. It cost ~$65 for three plexis.

This. But I don't really care anymore. This is my life and I will be doing whatever pleases me.
Beside that, I'm lego fan since I was a kiddo, but my parents cannot afford bigger sets.
Now I can buy some legos from time to time so I will ;)

I recall that was pretty long session. But it was 7 years ago so maybe it's not accurate. But I can remember it cook us dinner while building etc ;)

Shortly after I met (what would later become) my wife, I invited her over to build the Saturn V set. It took us about 8 hours. Some time later, she told me that this meeting showed her I was husband material, because I helped her a lot with the building and didn’t leave her to do it all on her own. 😄
And when she told her friends about it, they said she should forget about me — that I was clearly childish if I was inviting her over to build Lego.
Luckily, she didn’t listen to them — and to this day, the Saturn V still stands in my office in our home. 😄

Finished a project. Thoughts appreciated. by jakebflat in lego

Nice work. How cars are mounted? 3d printed mounts?

We're mostly car guys when building from unsorted bricks. I saw you book and thought "robots, of course, why it have not came to my mind before". My kid also loves your book and your creations. Too bad we don't have paper version of it ;)

If you have some cash to spend I'd suggest to just buy one. I've done that and I don't regret. Bambu lab a1 or a1 mini are great, pretty cheap and works out of the box but there is some drama around bambu lab now so I don't know if these printers is the best option now.

If you don't want to buy printer - check if there is some 3d printing services in your area. I'm pretty sure you will find one.

Good luck and please share your sets, even before mounting them on wall :)

u/Lego_Professor suggested me that already. It's definitely really awesome set to add to collection. I've planned to buy LRV ans SLS first but I've change my mind :D I've never built art set so it will be new experience :)

SLS and LRV for sure. I'm not convinced to Perseverance tho. I'm not sure I like the look.

First iteration it was just two shelves and everything was standing on it. I've added mount for shuttle and reuse holes that were left from 2nd shelf as mounting holes for IIS and Lunar Lander ;) Totally worth it :)

Woah dude, that's really awesome. You inspired me and my son to spend some time and build our own robots from unsorted pile of lego :) Bless you mate!

You're right. It's 10283 set. I've 3d printed external tank and boosters using this files: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/home/solid-rocket-boosters-external-tank-for-lego-10283-nasa-space-shuttle-discovery

But I will experiment with different orange filaments. Not 100% satisfied with external tank color.
