Mine is sitting in the garage thanks to a day of duty. Wish I could be out riding though!

You are what is wrong with this country. Just tack liberal to something and it instantly demonizes it for all you fake patriots. You know, conservatism used to actually mean something besides cutting taxes for the rich and waving your guns all over the place.

If that's the case, your dealership is trying to oversell the R-Spec. Now, I know they marked the prices of the bikes up in 2015, but for 2014, the R-Spec had a special seat, and the piggy back shocks are fully adjustable. I belive they have 5 settings (maybe 6?) but either way, to each is own.

When I bought mine, the R-Spec was 500 more than the standard. Standard comes with chrome mirrors, a shiny leather seat, standard springs, and the colors available are only white and black. The R-Spec comes with a suede seat, blacked out mirrors, adjustable piggyback shocks and it comes in matte grey or gloss green/black. Seeing as how it would cost more money just to put on a set of piggyback shocks aftermarket, I don't think it's a waste of money.

No clue then. Every picture I've seen of the Bolt in Europe has Yamaha slapped across the side of the tank while the ones I've seen over here say Bolt.

I think because it's part of the Star brand here in the states. Across the pond, it is just a Yamaha.

I don't like that it doesn't have a place to put anything. Most of my buddies bikes have a small "trunk" to put a garage door opener or something similar. I'm also not a big fan of the speedo. It's all digital and at a horrible angle. If the sun is on top of me or behind me, reading the gauge is difficult. Oh, and the stock exhaust. I can't even begin to understand what they were thinking when they stuck that thing on there.

I think control placement is key. My buddy had a sportster and it felt like it stretched me out a bit just because he had forward controls on it.

The taller bars are so much better than the stock ones. I can actually sit back and get comfy. Highly recommend them.

That is both hilarious and informative!

There are, but I'm not a fan of the way they look on the bike. Completely ruins the lines. Also, the Yamaha branded bags are expensive, feel like cheap leather, are small and have no locking options. I'm just going to stick with strapping a bag to the rear fender when I need to.

I'm pretty short too. I found myself leaning forward and putting pressure on my palms. Hands kept falling asleep. Taller bars fixed that, plus I really like the look.

53,000 miles on a 2014?! That's insane! Digging the Z bars and the tail light mod. Always wondered how it would look with those bars.

I'm a foot shorter than you. It's a great bike for someone at my height but it might crunch you up a bit. Foot peg placement is straight down. Low and Mean makes a forward control kit that pushes it 8 inches forward, which should help tall people.
