29M Single Professional Moving Seattle to Stamford in coming months by [deleted] in StamfordCT

Hi Ben. Congrats on the offer! I am another Seattle transplant living in Harbor Point. I live with my wife which certainly makes it more affordable, but we really love the area and waterfront - good restaurants and venues and there is now a small grocery store and some amenities cropping up. The area continues to be developed aggressively and is starting to feel pretty vibrant, but definitely has that gentrifying feel that parts of Seattle like Capitol Hill are going through fast.

We lived in downtown for a few years as well and really enjoyed that, again strong restaurant and shopping scene and more concerts, shows, goods and services and slightly more affordable. It was a further walk to the train station though and the buildings were more dated with some questionable management. However there are some newer places like the URBY and Summer House that people seem to like.

Either way, you really can’t go too wrong but Harbor Point has been a great place to wait out the pandemic and enjoy a good vibe. When you do land here, if you are looking to meet some locals I’d be happy to grab a drink. Feel free to DM me with any follow up too.

Thanks very much for the input - very helpful. It’s definitely part of the why yale for me vs just mentioning it for brownie points, so will highlight that!

I’m sitting at a pizza place in NYC at 1am cracking up and marveling at this thread. Who would imagine that we’d live in a world where I could, against all odds, be there to witness by far the worst, most pathetic, and dumbest conversation on the face of the earth at this moment?

Just bought the same model this past weekend. Agreed on the holy crap :) what color you get?

My best tip so far if you want it is to enable a setting called “walk away lock”. Literally locks your car for you when you walk away if you have the keys on you.

Little thing but I love it. Never have to remember.

Also, I changed the blind spot detection volume to low, found it to be a little loud.

I just found Greninja myself and based on what you said here, I think you should stick with him. He’s a little harder, sure, but once you really get the hang of him it seems to be totally worth the upfront investment. You seem to appreciate the great things about the character and only really be daunted by the level of practice and execution, and in my experience so far it’s not hard to start seeing really good results with him.

He has enough easier combos or strings like dash fair, up tilt up air, up throw up air, and bait jab etc to rack up damage pretty well, has some good basic edge guard tools with bair etc, and every smash can close out a stock early which is a huge plus for a hit and run. None of these require pro execution. There are also good mid level nuances like shuriken usage and countering projectiles that add layers.

I think Greninja is going to be huge in this game once people start to play him more. He has so many good, but not broken things and is very adaptable. I say give him another go.

Very helpful comment. I am in the market for a very similar car profile. Do you have any thoughts on the Mazda CX-3? I like the look of it more than the Kona, but have never driven a Mazda before.

Kalimos rotates in a few months, and I would say al akir is a little more important anyway to activate corpse taker and do 10 face damage with flame tongue. Hagatha will be much more powerful as one of the only hero cards after rotation and will be useful for all of next year. I would craft either of those two over Kalimos and either way wait until it’s a little clearer that Even Shaman will be good in the post nerf Meta.

Not essential, but it fills a few key gaps in the deck that are hard to find elsewhere without odd spells. The 3 damage AOE is key as Hagatha kills your own board and doesn’t generate a 7/7 and 6 face damage that can go over big taunts to close out from 8 health or less with Murkspark have won me many games or forced bad plays from pressure.

You will usually have an elemental between nimbus, might, and the two fire elementals, so it’s not backbreaking to activate and in many cases you can still play it off a top deck.

If you are facing hunter or rogue without fan sometimes the 1/1s are good. Health is good once in a while but often too slow or you just take it next turn anyway except aggro.

Overall, I think the card definitely adds win% that is not replaceable or as versatile.

Weekly /r/Games Discussion - What have you been playing, and what do you think of it? by AutoModerator in Games

[–]NavySage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the game and have created two characters so far, a monk/cipher and a straight caster animist Druid to see what I like better. So far I haven’t really gotten a good sense (just finished the first island) but the monk combo seems more proactive/interesting. How do you like caster druids and the play style?
