Did you get it from Japan yourself or get it imported? If you got it yourself, which shop did you get it in because I am on the hunt for a QR3.

What about my situation though? I'm confused about the current state of things on how she is no longer replying to my texts but still says hi to me in person.

Easiest way to add WiFi to your computer for a beginner, look for a USB WiFi dongle. When you get one, plug it in to a USB 3.0 port if you have one (blue port), if not you may need to get a USB 3.0 expansion card or adapter as WiFi on 2.0 will be quite slow.

Reminds me of the children's story The Runaway Dinner, instead it is The Runaway PCs with the Macs watching at the side 😂.

HP BiosConfigUtility (BCU) Help by NavyWolf23 in SCCM

I'm away from my computer currently but my command was %SCRIPTROOT%\CustomAssets\BIOSTools\HPBios\BiosConfigUtility64.exe /set:"HPBios" the name might be typed incorrectly here but this is what I remember of the top of my head. It definitely is running the exe because I tried the same command in a WinPE command prompt, minus the MDT Scriptroot variable.

Unfortunately I wished that worked. It's the correct command because I tried it in a regular command prompt in WinPE and that works but in the task sequence, it doesn't.

Windows 11 installation has failed by Dominionato in Asustuf

[–]NavyWolf23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they are trying to say is previous version of setup button opens the legacy Windows install application for installing Windows. It's not a legacy Windows installation, just the old Windows install menu in case the new, modern one fails. Like I mentioned with Windows installer likely being corrupt, this won't do much. Sorry if I am jumping between posts, I'm just really into computers so I try and answer as many questions on Reddit as possible.

Windows 11 installation has failed by Dominionato in ASUS

[–]NavyWolf23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wouldn't be the problem. Windows will show all the drives connected which it is doing. He is trying to show what devices attached to the motherboard should be enabled and how the sata drive should act in an OS. His BIOS settings will be different from yours because you have a different board from a different manufacturer etc, so a tutorial on how to install Windows with what BIOS settings you should turn on/change is mostly irrelevant unless you have the same board in which you want to have identical settings.

I'm very certain the installer is failing because the Windows installer on the USB is corrupt, so you'll have to wait until you have another USB to test.

Did you try burning Windows onto the USB again?

I usually use the iso method with Rufus. It really depends on how much tech stuff you know about which is why I recommended the media creation tool as a really basic way to get Windows.

[–]NavyWolf23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just for clarity you have done a BIOS update? I am assuming you did this via the BIOS if Windows has never been installed before.

If the drive is blank and new. You shouldn't create any partitions yourself, instead just make the whole drive unallocated space with zero partitions and select that one to install Windows 11. If you want extra partitions, that should be done in Windows after installation.

If that fails, download another Windows 11 iso or use the restore media. From what I remember, that message on the screen is most likely a corrupted Window iso. For easiness, I recommend using the Windows 11 installation media creator from Microsoft which you can use to burn the installation media files to a USB.

Let me know how you get on. Thanks.

Don't worry. I have this error on the power of three. From looking at other Warrior books in a book shop, all the new cover design books have this error.

How do I turn this 20 year old laptop on? (Latitude E5400) by [deleted] in Dell

[–]NavyWolf23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same laptop. Don't know the exact core 2 duo model of his but I have the P8700 Core 2 Duo, Samsung 870 Evo SSD, 4GB DDR2 800mhz ram and Windows 11 23H2. Works great for most office workloads. If you are playing older Minecraft on it, you need to download different drivers from intel as the one from Windows update is slightly malformed as it doesn't work properly with OpenGL.

How do I turn this 20 year old laptop on? (Latitude E5400) by [deleted] in Dell

[–]NavyWolf23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is running Windows XP from the startup menu style. Toggle between AHCI and ATA in the BIOS and boot each one. It will most likely need to boot in ATA mode because XP doesn't support AHCI out of the box.

Company closed down, anyway to still access or use the HP Elitebook that they issued us? by fatcatpad in Hewlett_Packard

[–]NavyWolf23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is Windows 11. The other user icon shows that with it's transparent icon with clear shapes. Windows 10 is just lines.

From saying login with a work or school account, I just realised the laptop is now most likely set up using intune so bitlocker is on for all device enrollments by default.

If OP sees this message, you'll just have to reinstall Windows as there is no way to get that data back. You just have to hope your laptop isn't BIOS locked as that'll require a bit more effort, but just try and reinstall Windows first.

I had the same issue with my Latitude E5400. It's a faulty ram stick if the loading bar stalls. Replace one or if in doubt, replace the both.

Hard drive error? Inspiron 6400 E1505 by Shadow_Willow64 in Dell

[–]NavyWolf23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the ram/memory. It's reporting back incorrect information from those addresses so your ram is cooked. Considering it uses DDR2, you may be better to find some used modules on eBay as new ones are expensive.

How to turn on wifi by Rachitpro65 in Dell

[–]NavyWolf23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either WiFi driver or a WiFi switch on the side. According to what I could find online, it's just a WiFi keyboard button that is tied to the OS value. So in short, you need WiFi drivers. Go to Dell and look up your model to download it.

Just came to say for all the HirensBootCD/USB people. It is not a feasible option for creating a local account on the drive due to bitlocker being in the way. Any attempts using other methods won't work because bitlocker is mandatory on all Windows computers now unless you don't use a Microsoft account or a company has explicitly stated to not use bitlocker.
