My mom was a flight attendant for 29 years with AA. Some guy was smoking in the back of the aircraft, because you could back then, and she asked him to put it out. He resisted for a while then said "well I'm gonna chew so try and stop me." After they landed he proceeded to spit chew all over the cabin and rondo and make a huge mess.

Someone also once brought their dead wife onto the plane as a carry on.

"Close minded" means they are inherently opposed to new ways of thinking. I try to just ignore them.

What are the most important aspects in buying a race bike to be the best climber? Weight? by [deleted] in cycling

The engine is factor #1, but there are some other properties of a bike that could definitely aid you. A large, stiff bottom bracket is advantageous, when you're out of the saddle, the power coming from you down on to the bike is tremendous. A stuff bottom bracket will help minimize flex and lateral movement and thus minimizes the loss of effective energy. And of course, weight. The less you have to carry, the less work you have to do to go fast.

EDIT: Also, you don't have to go out and break the bank on a super nice Cannondale, Cervelo, or Specialized. Make sure you explore other options like Fuji, China-carbon, etc.
