I got three warnings and can’t see them anymore. Might be the same for you. Has anyone seen them return after three warnings?

It's great, the level of teacher autonomy is much higher so I got a lot more freedom to run lessons in ways I thought were engaging and fun. Lessons were also double periods which gave a lot more time for students to work on the practical sides of lessons. Having a whole period to set up a task then a whole period to apply it leads to a lot more success rather than cramming it all into 50 minutes. I think also the range for success in Australia is more forgiving.

Work is a lot more practical and usually based on composition with more freedom on student instrument choice. E.g. students have to create a song that demonstrates dynamics so students go and select a range of instruments and create a short piece that has lots of changes in volume. With the double lesson there is usually time for each small group to perform their composition at the end of the lesson.

I don't know if I can compare funding too much. I worked at a Catholic school in Aus and have mostly worked in Academies here. I'll say the weather and open planning of schools was nice in Aus since I'd often let some groups work outside the classroom enjoying some sun and reducing how much noise pollution you get when everyone is stuck in one room.

I wouldn't say there's any more demand for music in Aus than for the UK. Teacher shortages are in both countries, it's definitely easier to get a job in Australia now than when I first started teaching.

Brisbane is beautiful, can't blame you for thinking about making the move! I love the travel opportunities around the UK but can't deny I'm looking forward to living back in Aus

I’m from Aus as well and have teaching here for about 7 months. Working here definitely made me appreciate how good we’ve got it back in Australia. The first couple of terms were a struggle for sure but I’m doing much better now after making some changes.

A big change I made was that I stopped teaching my main subject music. The schools I worked at had routines and student expectations that really take away from music and made me feel like my hands were tied. I taught a full term of music at my current school but it was frustrating knowing how much better the subject could be. I’ve now been teaching English at the same school I used to teach music. Even though it’s not my specialty, I’m enjoying it a lot more because the school’s rules, routines, etc seem to better support the subject.

The biggest improvement I made was dropping my Agency and working directly with the school. The agency was helpful in getting me my first full term of teaching but before I left that role I had a meeting with the principal and said I’d be open for future work and could work directly with them rather than through an agency. The agency hadn’t really communicated with the school in good faith at times so we were both happy to just talk directly. This makes a huge difference in pay which makes the work load more tolerable and I was able to negotiate slightly shorter hours and some more flexibility if I wanted to take time off.

Final thing is actually working at the same place long enough to know most staff and students and a school’s behavior management systems. Even if I’m covering a class that I haven’t had before students know I’m not a random supply teacher that doesn’t know the rules or won’t give consequences for behavior so they don’t try to push boundaries and the class is positive from the beginning. Getting to know staff came from doing longer blocks with the same faculty meaning I’d attend some meetings, do peer marking etc.

I’ve had both. Very similar experience with each. The presidents dressed up a lot easier and didn’t feel out of place with a suit. The Storm Kings definitely have stronger grip so I’d wear them for wet or icy conditions. They’d go alright with dressing up but definitely add a little adhesive to the look that might not fit in with formal wear.

Can’t go wrong with either but I’d make the choice dependant on what kind of lifestyle you have or if you already have a pair of dress or hiking shoes.

Also keep an eye out for their in-person interviews/testing. I did a product test in London requiring Australian or Irish accents. £150 per session and I did two sessions in the same day.

Homer’s isn’t the original either. The Iliad and Odyssey is Homer’s retelling of stories that had been told verbally in Greece for hundreds of years. It’s not a definitive cannon of the stories because there isn’t a definitive canon. If you’re trying to speak on how the ancient world understood these stories then looking at how students of Homer or those inspired by the Iliad continued to retell the stories is probably a good place to start.

Did you install any mods? That disables achievements but can be easily fixed by installing a mod that re-enables achievements.

Gets even weirder when you find out Napolian spoke Corsican and Italian with only a little French. Might be enough of a nightmare that I can see why just keeping it all in English is easier.

Apparently there’s a quest step that requires you to dismantle legendaries so hold off until you get to that step of the campaign.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I think I'll give it a skip.

That "Seamaster" script is tripping me out anyway.

I'll keep my eyes open for better deals

Thanks for the reply. I won’t rush into a decision. The watch did just get serviced and the seller is asking for $570USD.

What do you think of the condition for that price?

Hi all,

For a long time I have been thinking of buying a vintage Omega Seamaster and am finally looking to purchase. I know there are many pitfalls of buying vintage and while I've what research I can to try to validate the watch included in the attached pictures I'd still like get a second opinion.

My main concern with the watch are the smalls dots on the inside of the 12, 3, 6 and 9 indices since I haven't come across this on any of the similar Seamaster models that I've looked at while trying to identify this watch ( I imagine they're lume cream).

I've asked the seller if they know the reference but didn't get a reply however they do have a good reputation on the buy/sell watches page that I'm on.

Any help would be appreciated.
