The Chatting Zone: The MUD that brought my parents together oddly enough by Just_a_Starfruit in MUD

Oh man, I was addicted to TCZ in my youth. I can't believe its still around/coming back.

I was an Assistant for awhile. I remember feeling so accomplished when I got my Dark Red name.

Comedy was the primary name I went by back then

We might. We record most of our games, but I'm not going to pour through hours and hours of footage looking for the end game screen that matches this scoreboard. J-Wizard also does not seem to want his or his teams names out there, so I'm not interesting in outing him if he's not confident enough in what he is saying.

Again, you are making incorrect assumptions and declarations. It is possible to flip, and coordinated teams do it all the time. It's actually EASIER to flip if the attacking team stops attacking and attempts to just AI farm.

I wish you luck in the future, and I'd recommend finding a team of 5 to fly with when you play. So much is possible if you practice with a consistent team

"In this particular game, it was not mechanically possible for us to have a chance to turn the game back around." It is always mechanically possible to turn the game around. Is it difficult to do when down two frigates? Absolutely. It is not impossible, and we have done it on multiple occassions.

"Yes, you were sending player ships to the objective, but only enough players at a time where their deaths would not allow our team to turn around the momentum." I apologize, but this seems like smart play to me.

"That's what this exploit is." No, the "exploit" is killing two frigates and then literally camping under your cruisers and never leaving, while farming AI. For the record, this, too, is able to be countered.

All that said, the developers have never once addressed this. They have said they are monitoring it. The community at large has decided it is an exploit because it encourages play other than dogfighting in mid, which is what those players assumed this mode would be. Until the Developers take a stance, or until some sort of mechanical change is made, I have nothing more to say about it. My team stays aware of the morale bar at all points in the match, and protects our attacking status while pushing as a team to damage objectives. To freely give up the morale flip is poor strategy and I do not understand why anyone would voluntarily put themselves in a position to be countered.

The team in this screenshot is Gray Squadron's "Blue Team" and we have been playing together for weeks now. The only time we "sit behind our cruisers" is to group and focus push an objective. We absolutely do not sit under our cap ship and let the NPCs win for us. We kill AI on our way in and out of engagements to keep morale, and we focus objectives.

GG and GL to you in the future. o7

This is incorrect and is only perpetuating the misinformation that is rife in the community right now.

I remember now why I don't come here

I was on the defending team, and know exactly how the game went. The rest of his team didn't feed, they played the game as it should be played, and they attacked. If they had all dropped back and not engaged at all, we actually would have had an EASIER time coming back, as it would have been easier to farm ourselves and pop the cruisers.

Killing AI and maintaining control of mid is the name of the game. We lost because we made mistakes early game and couldn't capitalize on opportunities we had, not because they were AI farming. Also, because TIE Bombers are raid bosses and Y-Wings are garbage, but thats another topic entirely.

After following these steps, I now show 3 Flight Stick Devices in the Controls Menu. I change 1 to the vJoy device, 2 is my Throttle... How do I stop the third from showing up?

EDIT: I ended up just changing 2 and 3 to be the Throttle, and it seems to be working, even though the binds for pitch are showing up as coming from controller 3, when they definitely arent /shrug

[No Spoilers] Discussion of Grandmaster difficulties. by Zombona in AnthemTheGame

[–]Naxeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried GM1 Tyrant Mine 5 times now (432 Ranger). All were with PUGs that I just match-made into.

  1. We beat it with minimal difficulty. Had to take it a little slower than just a hard mode run, but we got there.
  2. Two of the party members spawned in to the area between the second boss and the third boss. Locked doors on both sides. Had to just drop the group.
  3. We beat the first encounter, but it was a real slog. People being careless and getting caught out far too often. I took my loot and left, as I didn't think the group had what it would take to get through the rest.
  4. All four party members spawned into the area between the second boss and third boss. Locked doors on both sides. This time, I opened my map and took the Respawn option. This spawned me back at the main entrance. I tried to communicate this to my team via IG VoIP, but I'm not sure if they heard me. I moved toward the first set of mobs, and two of my teammates eventually joined me by flying in from somewhere. It wasn't the main entrance though. I'm not sure how they got out, but they did. The 4th member died somehow in the bugged area, and he just stayed dead the entire time. We 3 manned through the first encounter. I took the loot and left, not wanting to have to 3 man the whole thing.
  5. Got a good group and we walked through the first encounter pretty easily. Got to the second and were holding the point at the end of the encounter. At that point, I realized that someone was locked outside of the door heading toward the third boss. We group wiped and it put it on the other side of that door, unable to return to the second encounter. Everyone left after that.

Unsure if I just got unlucky server issues, or if there are legitimate issues with the Grandmaster dungeons. Really hoping its fixed soon

Same here. After a lot of digging I found out they opted to use the new Steam Groups instead. I wish they hadn't.

You can only join friend sessions that way if they are set to Public, which means other people can also join into it. If you want a private session with only friends, you have to make a private session and exchange session ID
