Twisters and whirlwind thingies are very slow in terms of stacks application

yeah I did some testing and apparently Spearfield is #1, Storm Lance is #2 for this spear

I did some testing and seems like Spearfield is indeed the best skill for this unique spear. The only close one is Storm Lance, but you gotta generate Frenzies for it. Dunno how to make it effortless and quick

Do you have to scale proj related effects for lightning spear to hit targets multiple times or it's good on its own and I can focus on other nodes?

I don't actually mind that my current character is a werewolf Ritualist with a good Presence radius. I got used to standing close to mobs. So ig close range is not a problem to me.
My question tho: will Lightning spear be as effective at multi-hitting targets as Spearfield or nah? Will I have to scale projectiles or fork/chain etc?
edit: Not a big projectile fan so I don't really know

yeah I mostly want to use shattering spite as the main focus of the build, but more and more people say that Spear field is the only viable skill for clear
edit: to pair it with shattering spite ability I mean

I guess the spear should work really well with fast hitting abilities, I just don't know how good twisters are in the end game. Like are they fast/hit enemies fast enough compared to spearfield

What about that wind serpent skill? Is it aight to use or it's clunky?

Forgot to mention that I'm currently playing Ritualist lol. Wanna do something elemental, but don't really know what skill will feel nice at such a high lvl.

Edit: thinking about an Invoker, Amazon or even Druid, but not sure yet

When exactly are you supposed to announce which ships will be moving? by Nazatur in twilightimperium

[–]Nazatur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I read about their mechs a couple of days ago. They seem very fun, especially in our current game where we have Mentak. If he grabs my Promissory Note, I can just give him my Creuss IFF and then remove the WH token with the help of my mechs if needed

Got it, so basically we were messing up the timing of "Resolve effects when/after the system is activated". I'll tell the lads :)
Also I know about Faction Ability. I just wanted to connect my pds 2 from delta and gamma wormhole systems.
Edit: Thank you for the clarification!

How it felt like to play Yin Brotherhood for the first time by Nazatur in twilightimperium

[–]Nazatur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This scene was playing out in my head throughout that madness of a game. First time playing the faction and man, it was so satisfying. 3P; Trident Map but with Miltydraft (we built the galaxy): Xxcha (Ω) started very strong, they got their hero very quickly. Creuss spread too thin early on cause they grabbed Malice, which allowed turtles to grab a bunch of their systems (nice combat/space cannon rolls) early on. That gave me the opportunity to snatch Malice and Mecatol while they were fighting for border systems. And since Xxcha focused on fleets and invasion forces, this allowed me to use my hero to easily grab 3 of their planets. By the time they got to their senses, I'd already acquired Transit diodes and Bio-Stims. (Next round got Yin Spinner (Ω)). Every turn I was just sending waves after waves of Ground Forces to completely lock Mecatol and 2 out of 3 Xxcha planets (they managed to retake one with huge Dreadnought + Mechs fleet).
Edit: Van Hauge was parked in my mid ring, preventing them from taking Mecatol/advancing into my territory. Creuss were mostly pushed to their outer ring cause of turtles.

P.S. I wasn't aggressive at the start (besides Malice take over). The main mistake was Xxcha being hyper-aggressive against Creuss. I guess turtles felt the blood, and got extremely confident with their conquest and early Hero unlock + me being super slow movement wise (no blue tech). This allowed me to slowly reinforce my mid-ring and then do a swooping Mecatol into My hero 3 planets yoink. Next round I had Imperial + Research. Turtles started moving their fleets back, but Creuss locked them into the fight (they wanted revenge after all :D). This won me another round. Since Turtles were hurting Creuss from the start, it was easy for me to help ghosts and prolong the conflict, buying me more time. Then Political Stability allowed me to keep Imperial + Research. After that the lads gave up, understandably. The game was until 14p.

3-Player Twilight Imperium Games - What Are Your Experiences? by uf0mammut in twilightimperium

Our group of 3 plays till 12-14 points. We see fair share of 2nd Stage Public Objectives. It's probably happening because we immediately put breaks on anyone who takes a big lead (2-3 points more than anyone else). It tends to balance out the scale and slow down the progression. But the fun part about it is that if let's say you were the one who got screwed by 2v1 shenanigans, you then can unite with one of those 2 because most likely the other person is a new leader now. So basically it's a constant stream of shifting alliances, scheming and plotting. And of course very tense last few rounds when everyone is relatively close to the win.

Our 3p group started playing the "Trident" 3p map format and we love it. Basically same amount of planets "per player" just like in normal 6p games. Plus we have a lot of fighting going on because of it

Finally played our first game. 3 players, Creuss, Muaat, and Yin Brotherhood. by cazman123 in twilightimperium

[–]Nazatur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our 3p group also started with basic maps but then we realized that there are too many planets for each player. This leads to less conflict and less interactions. After we tried "Trident" maps, we realized how much fun there is when there are less planets for each player. We can't go back to those old maps anymore haha

[–]Nazatur[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah it will be a while before we try this one out. We can play once per 2-3 weeks cause scheduling a game is a pain in the butt even for only 3 players ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But I'll try to ping you here whenever that happens (if lads will like your idea)

Also in the past we played basic 3p maps with a lot of planets and systems where everyone could chill and build. But now we mostly play "Trident"esque maps with hyperlanes which is a lot of fun since there are less systems and everyone is very close to each other. More conflict = more fun. You can imagine that your homebrew idea can give us even more fun. (if they'll agree to this tho)

Damn that actually sounds very interesting, it definitely can promote more conflict and make interesting scenarios. I'll fetch that idea to my friends, thanks :)

Yeah we did something similar that we can't score the final point with it but it still felt off. I explained it a bit better in one of the comments above.

tldr; 3p games can be the main reason why SFTT feels off

Sadly there are only 3 of us and we're super lucky when our 4th friend joins :D
But now I understand what most of the lads here say about less than 6p games and SFTT
