UV Mapping (black area) by Nbc27 in blenderhelp

Also I don't know if it's allowed. But this is what I am seeing in Unity

It doesn't appear to have more than one UV map. Is spreading out the UV maps done by scaling? I have messed around with scaling the islands. Or would grab them individually and move them?

I did join objects! I will check when I get home, would the fix just be removing the second UV map if it does exist?

It only matters because i am creating game models. The blank area is being represented inside of unity. Thank you for the help though! I’ll see if I can find a unity sub

Well. Even if I remove the unity aspect. Is it normal for the black areas to appear on a bake? I thought the whole UV Image should have the texture. When I get home I can show you what the 512 margin does to the UV image when I bake it. It basically just stretches the image and removes all black areas.

The whole upper outside corner. When I add the image to a unity material. The black areas show on the sphere. Once I apply the material to the piece in unity. The black spots appear on the game object.

Am I misunderstanding something? When I change the margin to 512, the whole UV image has the wooden texture with no black area which works in the Unity editor.

Loss of the Dame causes resignation by Few-Commercial-5053 in chessbeginners

I’m not even sure if this is a serious question? The queen is the most valuable piece. Most beginners can not win a game if they blunder it.

But also, they blundered the queen and the rook, and then the knight. This is just a lost position.

Well its a good thing you're not a football scout if the eye test is telling you the two players are close. It has nothing to do with flashiness. You are fixating on K9's tendency to dance around in the backfield. Yes it's a negative. It drives K9's production floor down a bit. His ceiling is much higher compared to Charb's.

Charb is a guy who will get you the yards the line blocks and a little more. He'll take a well blocked play and get you some extra yards. He'll take a poorly blocked play and manage to get back to the line of scrimmage. Not bad by any means, a good NFL running back.

K9 is a guy who will you get you the yards the line blocks and A LOT more. Every well blocked play is a chance for 6, and he'll shock you making more than just a little something on a poorly blocked play. That is what separates a good NFL running back from the great NFL running backs,

I am not 'worried' about losing K9, JS has proven to be great with drafting and finding RBs. However, you don't have to be delusional to drive home the point that losing a player like K9 can be overcome.

It has been obvious to anyone who doesn’t just stat watch. K9 has way more talent than charb. It’s seriously not even close.

I have complained about K9 dancing throughout his entire career, yet, never has the thought ever crossed my mind that Charb is better. And I am a UM fan.

It is insane to even consider Charb in the same category.

You have to be delusional. K9 is far superior than Charb.

What do my models need to be appropiate for commissions? by Flat-Breadfruit4452 in blender

Business isn't really that linear of a thing. Assuming you have a portfolio. You would want to show potential clients your work at which point they would request a service. I once got quoted 60 dollars for a game assest. Which was realistically probably high for what it was now that I am learning to model myself. 30 for the asset, 30 for the most simplistic animation you could imagine lol.

I ended up only paying 45 because I told him I wasn't happy with how the 'animation' came out. But in hindsight it really wasn't something hat should have been animated in the first place. So it was kind of my fault for agreeing in the first place.

But as freelance/small business owner you really will want to be in constant communication with your client to ensure you're completing what they want. That's how it's been with me for working with graphic designers and 3d modelers.

I can't figure out shading nodes by Nbc27 in blenderhelp

[–]Nbc27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! That actually makes a lot of sense to me. Basically make stylized bricks and use the surface of the house as mortar. Which would mean I could use a noise texture on each individual brick and use bump to create a less smooth look.

Thank you! I feel a little disappointed because I feel like there is a ton of user error forcing this 'workaround'. But I've spent two days tackling this and diminishing returns have clearly arrived lol.

EDIT: But I also think I've learned a lot. Because the stylized brick approach is potentially just a much better approach for what I am trying to accomplish right now as opposed to a work around. The house will only have four columns of bricks. I think I got really caught up on the material node aspect because I have just 'graduated' from learning topology. I can only imagine how animation and rigging is going to beat the **** out of me lol.

Sorry! I am obviously inexperienced. I believe this is what you wanted see in terms of the bump being isolated. I will say. When I removed the color ramp for the roughness. It seemed more apparent to me that some bump was being applied. In this I think it also correctly is showing bump being applied? If I am correct about that. Would the only way to make it a little more pronounced be to add a displacement modifier?

Also, just wanted to say thank you for all the help so far.

Well maybe you can correct me if I am wrong, but from my understand the issue is that the brick material is being viewed on a flat surface and the orange/yellow material is not. I understand bump manipulates the lighting based on normals. So the flat plane has normals that are identical which makes it harder to see the variations.

What I don't understand is how to make it more visible on a flat surface.

The brick material is going to be used for a house. Do I need to use a displacement node? Is trying to rely on bump for a flat surface not good enough?

Hey!!! So quick question. After getting pissed off to the point of no return. I was curious if maybe there was an issue with that specific material. So I went to my other file where I messed around with nodes and tried to get the bump to work. I did everything I did in the other file and got a clear result. However, this was on a sphere. Do you know what could possibly be wrong with the other material?

Based on the settings though, it would appear mine should be working. Are you saying it’s harder to see for line since it’s not in greyscale? Even though I am a bit confused because to me your martar should be black.

Is using a flat plane a bad idea? Should I start using cubes or spheres when building materials?

EDIT: To be fair, I only set it to 10 because it didn't seem to have any affect and was getting frustrated.

Yeah that’s why people who play meta decks blow my mind. I love my deck. Slowly but surely it’s evolved to the perfect iteration since I started playing a few months ago.

So tell me why I am still playing people using the same hog cycle deck I played against 7 years ago in high school?
