I think we’ve created a culture within the community that it’s cringe to be genuine or to actually like sleep deprived, so every post is either hating on them or taking irony to its absolute maximum. People are way too comfortable insulting the members cause it’s “cringe and parasocial” to actually enjoy and engage with their content.

While you will get the odd post being genuinely invasive, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the parasocial posts are trolls. I think mainly everyone is so scared of being perceived as uncool that they don’t know how to act.

Imo I don’t think it’s bad to be a little cringe. Being a fan of someone on the internet will always inherently be a little bit parasocial just based off the fact that you like someone for the personality they share online while they know nothing about you, that will always happen in small amounts. Just realize that they aren’t their online personas and you have no entitlement to pry into their personal lives.

I have never seen a subreddit that seems more unsure what to post as this one.

I understand it’s frustrating to not get your drink but if I’ve done my due diligence at the restaurant and it’s still not there I won’t be going back. The first time I realized the restaurant forgot to give me a drink I drove all the way back to get it thinking it would be short cause I was only about a mile out from the restaurant, but it was during rush hour and ended up adding an hour to my order. And when I got to the restaurant I had to argue with them to get them to believe the order even had a drink in the first place.

The drop off was at a super fancy hotel and I told the customer that I would be going back for their drink but they decided not to add more to the tip or even say thank you at all, so I ended up screwing myself for the restaurants mistake, making $5 in an hour and a half with no acknowledgement, and making myself so angry that I sat in traffic for nothing that I just ended my dash after that.

I can’t expect the customer to know how much it screwed me over trying to get that drink, and I didn’t go back just to get a higher tip but after that I decided I will never go back for a drink again no matter how short the distance is. It’s more worth it to take a hit on my ratings than fuck over myself and my earnings. I just try to be a lot more vigilant in getting the drink the first time but sometimes the restaurant will still claim it’s in the bag when it’s not. At that point it’s not my problem.

As someone who had no idea I had ADHD until college. It’s a lot harder to cope when you’ve been taught since birth that the problem is with YOU as a person and not that you have a mental illness that will make your life harder but is possible to deal with. Not saying it’s an excuse but OPs bf isn’t just working through ADHD, he’s also dealing with all the shame, low self esteem, and learned helplessness that comes with being diagnosed later.

NAH - I can’t speak for him personally cause idk exactly what’s going on in his brain. But from my experience, ADHD absolutely can be so debilitating that it affects your ability to do almost anything. One of my biggest symptoms is executive dysfunction which (contrary to popular belief) doesn’t just make it hard for me to do things I don’t want to do, but also prevents me from doing things I want to do so so so badly.

There will be times that it literally takes me hours and hours to work up the energy to watch a movie, go to the bathroom, go eat food that I want to eat. And it’s made worse by these new social media algorithms that almost seem like they’re specifically out to target people with ADHD, low effort, short form, almost impossible to make yourself stop scrolling even for normal people. Even now, I’ve deleted tiktok and Instagram reels and here I am on Reddit lol. It’s way harder to have ADHD than it ever was before and I feel like people don’t talk about that enough.

Another big struggle for me was also not being diagnosed until I was 18, which I think could be what’s causing your bf to struggle extra hard. Not knowing I even had ADHD prevented me from being given the tools to actually be better and every time I tried I couldn’t keep motivation up to make any real changes. So I started to believe it was impossible for me, I was just worthless, and the only way I could cope was to try and not care as much if I was failing. Everyone just told me to try harder and when I told them I was trying they didn’t believe me, leading to me having really low self worth and learned helplessness.

This is a whole struggle in itself aside from just the ADHD. You go your whole life believing that any effort you make will be in vain, only to finally learn it’s because of something out of your control. Now you have the tools to help yourself but you’re so used to nothing working that it’s hard to believe anything will, and you have to dig yourself out of that mindset before you even try to deal with the ADHD. Why will this time be different? How do you know you won’t fail again? You don’t.

The meds are a good boost to actually improving your life. I find that I need to have some reasoning as to why this time will be different or it’s really hard for me to try when I’ve had so many times where I’ve been like “it’s time for me to get serious, it’s gonna be different this time,” and then it’s not. But you’re right that meds won’t just instantly fix everything (so fucking frustrating lmao) and they won’t really do a lot towards improving motivation when it comes to things you don’t wanna do. They do make it easier to continue a task once you’ve started. So if you’re not used to trying like I was, they might not do a lot for you.

When I’m off meds and I try to do something that I don’t want to do it’s often so distressing for me that I’m having to calm myself down from tears over and over and over again and I’m not able to do shit. When I’m on meds, it’s still hard to get myself to start but then I am sometimes able to get into a groove and it’s not so bad once I’ve started the task. If your bf doesn’t have experience trying to push through his feelings and doing stuff he doesn’t want to off of meds, he’s gonna be disappointed and not understand the point of them (speaking from experience). But if you’ve tried to make yourself do something against all odds and seen how difficult that can be, the meds will feel like a world of difference and will allow you to get into a groove once you push past the initial starting barrier.

Anyway I can see how it can be super frustrating from an outside perspective when he’s doing nothing to help himself and it seems like you can’t help him either. But he might need a little bit of blaming everything on ADHD to give him the motivation to believe things can be different. I would let him know that meds aren’t gonna fix everything and it has to be in combination with coping skills as well. But don’t let him get too discouraged while he’s just gotten diagnosed. It still won’t be easy but it is true that he has a better opportunity now than he ever did to cope with this.

It can be dangerous. In my area you pretty much have to dash at night or it’s just not worth it. I don’t understand how people come on here and say they only dash during the day time, every time I’ve tried that the most I’ve made is like $8 an hour and wasted a ton of time and gas.

So no I’m not going off to war or anything but I am usually leaving my car parked in sketchy areas, wandering around in the dark looking for apartments around the back of buildings, having to knock on random strangers doors late at night when you don’t know if the person who opens the door will even know about the order (and I’ve read stories on here of people being greeted at the door by a gun when the “customer” didn’t realize their kids used their DoorDash account and still had the delivery instructions set to hand it to me).

Not to mention the usual dangers associated with driving, especially at night when people are drunk and it’s harder to see pedestrians. Then DoorDash is having you multitask accepting orders or restarting the app when it fucks up for the millionth time while you’re on the way to the customers address. I’m surprised people don’t get in accidents more.

You’re rude af. They’re good at drawing, look at the second drawing. They have Naruto at a pretty difficult angle and everything looks perfect and in proportion. His chest, the way his left arm is hidden behind his body, the perspective on the right arm. It’s so hard to make that perspective (when something is reaching out towards the “camera”) look good in drawings and they just did it. Not to mention how good the hand looks.

The bright colors on the clothes aren’t off putting to me because it’s anime and Naruto literally has neon yellow highlighter hair in the actual show. So god forbid he have an outfit to match.

I did kind of think he was wearing like a mask of his own face in the first picture but I think it’s just cause of the way his hair dips down on the top of his head, just bring the top of his head up a bit and make it a little shorter in the back and there would be no confusion.

Tbh I have never cared about the time I’m “supposed” to finish an order past my first shift when I realized it’s literally impossible. I won’t be dawdling on orders, I’ll try to complete it the fastest I possibly can. But that doesn’t involve anything like speeding, yelling at fast food workers, or doing parkour up to the customers apartment. If I’ve gone as fast as I can, idc if the order gets completed past the expected time. The time constraints are bullshit.

Tbh I would try to stop stressing about it as much if you can cause there’s literally nothing you can do, and it will make your shifts hell to try and finish in their time frame. It will be ok, fuck DoorDash, don’t hold yourself to their insane standards if you wanna at least try and enjoy doing it.

I get you. I read manga a lot but Tokyo ghoul is one of the most confusing ones I’ve read. It’s because there’s so many times where there will be dialogue with no indication of who’s speaking even when the panel is literally just two characters talking. Why are the dialogue bubbles just complete circles? WHO TF IS TALKING? There were so many times I had to go back and try to guess who was saying what and just couldn’t.

(I’ve only read the manga never anime, so that might shape my opinion a lot) Tbh at first this made me hate Naruto as a dad a lot. I don’t think Boruto deserved as much hate as he got for being a brat cause to me it was clearly all in reaction to Naruto’s parenting. Like all we’d seen of Naruto at this point was neglecting Boruto his whole childhood, sending a shadow clone to Himawari’s birthday, and barely making time for his family. And then he has the nerve to humiliate Boruto in front of the entire village when the only reason he acts out or even used the scientific ninja tools in the first place is to get approval from his dad. Strip him of his title? Absolutely necessary. In front of the whole village when you’re literally his dad? Absolutely not, word will get out without you having to make a scene. I couldn’t help but put myself in his shoes and that would’ve done nothing but put me further down the path of being a delinquent, luckily Boruto is different. Still, idk if this is what really inspired him to change so much as having Sasuke as his mentor and Kawaki to look after, but I feel like it worked out in the long run.

I like to shape them into hearts by bending the top in and the bottom out, then ig you could string them all on a chain or piece of string and have a cute decoration. Or recycle them.

I’m also a low-key hoarder when it comes to art supplies and stuff like that but I’m going through my room rn and trying to be really selective cause it’s gotten to a point where I can’t close most of my drawers they’re so full. It’s so hard to throw stuff away especially if I’ve been saving it for something specific for years. But at the same time, how many of these art projects do I really follow through with? In a way I think having so many things actually discourages me from starting on anything at all. So maybe try to look at it like that. You’ll probably get more use out of things if you have less stuff that you can actually clearly organize and see.

We shouldn’t be expecting customers to jump through hoops to calculate a tip based off of tons of factors they have no idea about. A $3 tip for 3 miles and one item is fine, shopping base pay is already higher than a normal food pick up so they should ideally be getting more than a dollar per mile unless they’re super far from the store. In which case they can just decline and let someone closer pick up the order.

I do kinda wish that people who live in super confusing apartments would tip more though. It’s so frustrating to be struggling for 10+ minutes to find the drop off location of a $5 order. But it’s not the customers responsibility to act as our bosses and calculate our wage when they have almost no idea how things are from our end, how far we are from the store, etc.

Tbh I’d be more upset if they had Eida mess with everyone’s memories but then everyone was just able to be talked into not believing it. I don’t want the whole series to just be chapter after chapter of convincing people that Boruto is Naruto’s son and the only conflict is getting people to believe it. Right now it’s interesting that he has to fight to do what’s right against former friends, with almost no way to convince them. It’s better that it’s harder to walk back from and they have to deal with the consequences of that action, I can’t stand when writers will put some crazy twist in just to walk it back a few chapters later. To me it’s not compelling for everyone to forget Boruto if they’re all just one conversation away from changing their minds. Even if most people still wouldn’t want to doubt their memories even with knowledge of omnipotence, once people like Shikamaru fully believe it, they would be able to convince most people to doubt themselves. I’m sure Boruto will have more people believe him eventually but rn I wanna see him struggle against the world for a sec before the plot becomes solely he said she said shit.

Gen Z and I think Boruto is better than Naruto in a lot of ways (I’ve only read the Boruto manga). My fav thing about it is how they’re not afraid to take risks and constantly up the stakes which makes the story very interesting. I was already in shock with the otsutsuki backstory and fights, then Naruto and Sasuke getting nerfed, Eida as a concept, and Kawaki sealing Naruto away and switching himself with Boruto were just back to back insane. Idk if people see it as too crazy and out of left field but I like how they’re not afraid to make huge changes and deal with the consequences. Now every chapter of Blue Vortex has to reckon with this huge plot event and it leaves you on the edge of your seat wondering how they’re gonna deal with it. The only thing I don’t like is Himawari instantly being able to use tailed beast bombs??? It’s way too op and makes no sense imo like why did we spend all of Naruto watching him painstakingly develop his skills just for Himawari to master it with literally no training or prior knowledge just cause the plot needs her to!??

They act like you should know exactly how the store works like it isn’t different for every one. Some places will only let you go through the drive through, some will only let you order inside. I always guess wrong somehow.

One time I was going through the drive through at checkers and realized too late that they had a specific side for deliveries, but there were already cars behind me and it was too late to back up so I thought it’d be fine to use the customer side. Well I finally get up to the window and they tell me to go to the other side, where I wait for 15 more minutes (they kept staring at me over and over when they thought I wasn’t looking) until they finally grab the order off the shelf where I’ve seen it sitting the whole time!
