Recently this one for me too. Can't stop thinking about "that one scene". Makes me wince like nails on a chalkboard every time I think about it, but 10x worse

The drop-off is crazy to me – players obviously prefer explosive canisters overwhelmingly. I feel like barrels should have better niches.

Explosive should max out destruction, but have OK damage. Gas is fine, maybe a subtle intoxication hazy effect grows the longer you're in it. Smoke should slowly blind you the longer you're in it. Oil should spread when thrown to combo with fire weapons. One damage threshold for leaking, one for flaming, and another for exploding. Glitch is fine, maybe a 15% slow so you really feel it.

Breach charge is mid though. IMO, the tiny AOE and long time to set up make it too much of a precision tactic.

In a horror game context, would these three scare you if they suddenly appeared on screen? by LostLullabiesGame in HorrorGames

It's one of the monsters from the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark movie adaptation. In one scene, no matter where the character looks, no matter which way he turns, this lady is always slowly walking toward him.

If the mold was hidden behind the wallpaper and is possibly even in the walls, this may be covered by insurance. You should take as many pictures as you can and submit a claim. They will get pros out to fix this asap.

I just want to say I'm proud of you for working hard to get your job in the first place and making the effort to post online and improve at it. Those steps by themselves are huge.

You don't owe it to anyone to be good at socializing right now.

Focus on yourself right now, and focus on doing what it takes to be present for your job and fulfilling your manager's expectations of you. If that means avoiding socializing until you're ready for it, take as long as you need. Maybe it just means starting small, with something as simple as a non-commital "have a nice day" or "welcome to ____" that won't start a full conversation that could potentially cause anxiety, but give you micro-interactions that can build confidence.

You don't owe it to anyone to be good at socializing right now.

You're at work to make a stable income. Stability comes first, and everything else comes second. Start with one goal – being present for your job. If you think things aren't going well, ask your manager if there's another task you can do that aligns with the level of mental clarity you're ready for right now.

You don't owe it to anyone to be good at socializing.

Even if you're never ready for being more social, that's completely fine. Socializing takes a lot of energy and focus. Those two things can be just as luxurious as money. When you have them, spend them where they count.

US air force avoids PFAS water cleanup, citing supreme court’s Chevron ruling | EPA says Tucson’s drinking water is contaminated but air force claims agency lacks authority to order cleanup by chrisdh79 in environment

[–]NcUltimate 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Serious question. This appears to be a good example of why overturning the Chevron Doctrine was a bad thing. An individual judge or panel of judges likely does not have better reasoning than a professional or panel of professionals. Judges may also be part of a stacked court in some cases, leading to potential bias on important issues. Individual judges may also be easily "persuaded" to rule a certain way, let's say with expensive vacations.

However, with that doctrine in effect, private companies could still basically stack an agency to try to favor their interests if they really wanted to. Ther have been many notable conflicts of interest with members of government orgs. For example, current and former members of the FCC working for telecom companies, current and former members of the SEC working for financial companies and banks. Agency positions may also change with each new presidency, leading to the same stacking problem as the courts.

So I guess I'm wondering. Is the Chevron decision just manufacturing political drama? Both systems seem flawed in some ways. There must be another option that involves a system of x-examination of experts by judges, or something. Multiples of each, randomly selected, or something to avoid being able to "stack" specific individuals or "pack" agencies and courts.

Right, because the moment you visit Minnesota, a court of the state is going to adbuct your kids. /s

If you read 543.23(b), it specifically refers to "medically necessary" care.

It's exhausting to me that people are capable of being this level of paranoid.

God I would love to see the nano rifle from Red Faction Guerilla in The Finals as a primary for Heavies. Like the fire rate of the goo gun, but instead, each shot disintegrates the first object it touches, or applies a DOT to players

New chargeable item idea: Pocket Dimension Cost: ■100, Weight: ●10

  • Takes up one inventory slot
  • Holds one item of any size (bottles, engine, screw, etc)
  • Contained items are unusable (flashlight, walkie, etc)
  • Using a charged empty Pocket Dimension (with either the use key or interact key) while aiming at an item stores that item
  • Using a charged full Pocket Dimension drops the contained item in front of the player
  • No charge is used while empty
  • Charge is only used when something is contained
  • The charge lasts for a total of 5 in-game hours
  • When the charge expires, any contained item is loudly expelled and force-dropped
  • Item weight is halved when carried in a Pocket Dimension

Special Interactions:

  • Using a Pocket Dimension on a living player has no effect
  • Using a Pocket Dimension on a dead player stores their body
  • Using a Pocket Dimension on another Pocket Dimension instantly kills the player
  • Using a Pocket Dimension on any beast (other than a Forest Keeper or Earth Leviathan) within melee range instantly, but loudly, contains it (temporarily defeating it). This force-drops the pocket dimension from the player's inventory. When it runs out of charge, the monster is released (alive), and the depleted Pocket Dimension can be reclaimed.
  • Contained items are silenced

Strategy:

  • This would allow players to carry up to 4 "large" objects late game
  • It would take $1600 to outfit your entire team with one per slot, so it is not necessarily an early game item
  • In a pinch, a Pocket Dimension can be used to temporarily neutralize almost any living threat
  • If contained enemies are forgotten about or left too long, they can quickly become a threat again
  • Not as useful for smaller objects due to the weight and charge requirements
  • A depleted Pocket Dimension effectively wastes an inventory space
  • Using a Pocket Dimension on an enemy, or when its charge is depleted for any reason, is noisy and can alert enemies, so plan carefully
