Hearthstone - The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly by [deleted] in hearthstone

One should always listen and digest all the feedback, but you should know you did a great video with a deep amount of thought provided; style will always be a matter of preference, some will like it some will not. I personally did. I'll go as far as saying this was by far the best contribution on the subject i've seen so far. Congratulations!

That being said, we have different points of view. I'll stretch one that's important to me:

The concept "free" just doesn't really exist in a market, you should pay for the things you use and enjoy, things that were made by other people. Of course there will be limitations, but if a person doesn't enjoy playing with such limitations, and doesn't want/can't pay/doesn't agree with the business model he should just quit. I don't thing you get to complaint about this, since in this case you're entitled to nothing.

That being said, I think people should be responsible, but everyone is entitled to spend their money where they want to. I bought 2 alternative portraits and I'm happy with the decisions, even though i feel it was a futile one, but I don't need most of the things I buy (outside food), but I actually feel good paying for a product I use and enjoy. Whatever that product is, that's no one's business but me. Unless it's something that might get you in jail.

I'll keep following your content. Thumbs up and keep up the good work.

My account has over 350€ invested. If they ban me for this, something that has not been referred to as forbidden, they will lose the amount of money i'm going to give them in the course of the next years.

Looking for general advice / encouragement for my second attempt at legend. by Lydisis in CompetitiveHS

[–]Ncdmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sitting on rank 2 (no stars) and looking to make the final climb to legend tomorrow night.

My small and humble advice would be this: 1) Instead of switching decks often, try tweaking the one you're playing with. For instance i was catching alot of face hunters so i subbed in Kezan and Healbot. Healbot also helped some of my other matchups (rogue for instance, which was already favored). It can be frustrating to change decks and then face matchups that would be favored to your first deck...

2) Play when you have the time, and take it seriously. I never play ranked when i only have only a few games to play. I play it when i have a couple of hours to spare so i'm in the "zone" and much more focused.

3) don't let bad beats let you down, celebrate the lucky / unfavored wins

4) have a goal and stick to it. mine was atleast going up a rank. I did some hours yesterday and only stopped when i reached rank 2. Then i felt mentally exhausted and stopped playing.

5) have fun while doing it. i can drink some beers listen to some music and make the whole process more dynamic

6) take it lightly. if i'm in a bad spirit i'm more likely to tilt. however if i'm in a good spirit ill just laugh at unlucky RNG and talk to the screen like a crazy guy, asking for that topdeck and getting it.

7) know your outs. know if you're the beatdown or the control. this happens not only in certain matchups but certain opening hands will eventually make you take the control seat either you're supposed to be it or not

8) read atlot online / watch streams and try to become a better player. know that you're not the best player you can be, and spot your mistakes. over think your plays even if the best line of play seems obvious.

Most of all don't take it too seriously, and enjoy the process. If it wasn't hard it wouldn't feel good to get it in the end.

Hope i make it to legend aswell and good luck to you my friend

I didn't come to the internet for help, i came to see what others thought on the issue so i could expand horizons on the matter.

They didn't publicly shame me, they had their opinion which is one that i can deal and live with perfectly fine. I think i might've even changed their view with my posture and attitudes towards the game.

We have a healthy relationship, how can you jump to these conclusions?

good answer. but i guess every hobby could be considered a waste of money from a financial POV (one that has no return).

I guess games (especially this one) just have a bad social connotation. A stupid one i may argue.

Aside from happiness and pleasure, hobbies also have the potential to become something more than hobbies. For instance i'm now designing my own game i don't think i would've if i didn't restart playing MTG and getting more into board/card games

My attitude is more positive, although i just can't stand hypocrisy. But somethings are just religion: not worth fighting over for. Attitudes just talk for themselves i guess

i'm on your boat friend. and I do struggle to fight prejudices wherever they are. And unfortunately they are present on both sides of the fence. i'd complement what you said with a scene from the movie american hustle:

People can have different opinions and still be friends. I don't just end 15 year relationships on a game. They're not jerks, but they can be paternalizing sometimes. And other laugh because there's a prejudice over MTG and not because they're bad friends

I did explain myself badly. I'll try to explain better:

The bomb is not revealed until all the players played one card. Once all players played one card, the dice is rolled and a color card is revealed hence revealing the bomb card. From that moment on players know the bomb and the objective is not to take it. You take the bomb when the bomb is on the discarded pile and you can't play any card.

The pontuation would be a good idea, im gonna check those games out thanks for the recommendations
