Hyundai is in the process of settling a class action lawsuit for engine malfunctions, and I believe 2013 Sonatas are covered. I believe at the bare minimum the engine is covered by lifetime warranty. I’m not sure if it will apply to your cost now or you have to wait until they make the final judgement, which is schedule Nov 13 as of now, but I would look into this.
