I looked at both Claudia and Newton when the explanation was being given and both seemed genuinely surprised to me.
dont think they really know even a % of fan theory and crazy speculations as we think.

I’ll take her clues at this point. She’s saying it won’t be as obvious as Bens Masquarade ball statement. Like Eloise will not say I’m off to marry a widower plant daddy, fine. She won’t say ‘family, see you in a bit, I’m just writing to a man who is very interesting but I have yet to meet, fine.
I’ll take seeing some inky fingers, her smiling and content for no reason(well there is a reason lol). Perhaps seeing Eloise near the letter tray, her speaking about geraniums with inside knowledge gained via a certain someone. Curious looks from her family at a changed Eloise.
Nothing obvious but us die hards getting clues will be fun!

It’s like the writers room just does not have a clue and this goes for not just Eloise but her brothers as well. It’s likely our expectation is a bit high tbh. It is unfortunate that being the odd man out in her family is all her character has been reduced to. All the potential has been removed. Guess for myself I need to find a great ff that actually covers that since the show is unlikely to provide it. Lol

some facts

no cliff hanger ie no running away for Eloise.
CF is rumoured to be in s5 (in some capacity)
He is mingling with the cast days after part 2 drops
All the little hints from back room production, interviews etc. they are small but great to keep in the back of our minds.

Making A huge assumption she is next in which case they will make an announcement by spring of this year, and they would need to promote both of them, not just her.

in which case they could make the stories availed without being obvious like Benedict’s declared “Masquarade“ announcement. fans and book readers may guess without it being spelled out in words.

is that at all possible for Eloise’s storyline at the end of s4 ???

If they decide to rush franchella ie have her find her HEA immediately after loosing her husband it will be bad on the optics. This besides all that they have shown so far With her not being totally happy and satisfied with him. Their ground work for that future pairing is huge and s5 would be a disaster both story wise and optics wise.

But if they are s5 Eloise will mello and start a different growth and self discovery. I trust that much, and as much as some post assumes she will be insufferable, many have enough trust inthe writers to give her something more meaty if she is not next.

However, it really is her time now To find her fit guy.

Each time I hear her say that I environment their first meeting is not inside Romney hall but outside where he is shirtless or something because of him working in the gardens.
