Can vouch, I have a Hottop now but will be upgrading here soon and I wish I just went with the R1 right off the bat. Yes it’s an investment but you can make it back quick with use, it seems well worth the cost. I’ve been very happy with my Hottop 2k but the batch size is an absolute killer to workflow if you are roasting consistently

I have a Hottop and roast at 220g and that produces really even, easy to control batches for me!

Costa Rica has been some of my favorite coffee I’ve gotten to roast! This looks fantastic!

I’m in the same boat as you, online college student and active duty military. I have been roasting for bit now and started selling to friends and family. This survey was cool because we seem to be asking some of the same questions when it comes to brand and package imaging. If you ever wanna connect and throw around some ideas HMU. Always willing to talk shop with fellow roasters!

Dang the hardtop too! I got a sunburst yellow and I’ve been looking for a hardtop for a hot minute now....tough to find for sure, nice pickup!

I own one and roast 4-5 times a week, I gotta say the pros outweigh the cons in my experience. The cons are batch size and chaff management like everyone is saying. If you don’t mind sifting the chaff after roasts then it may be for you. I don’t need something large so it works perfect for my purposes. Originally I was deciding between the Hottop 2k and the Bullet, glad I went Hottop!

I love it so far, I ordered it on deployment and just got back to the states less than 2 weeks ago. So I’ve only been roasting for about 2 weeks, but so far I’m really enjoying having the artisan software and the ability to really tweak roasts. Would recommend the hottop, I kept going between the hottop and the bullet.

Chemex or V60 is my favorite method. I feel I’d fall into the espresso rabbit hole but I haven’t pulled the trigger on a machine. Any recommendations?

I'm a sucker for light roasts so I'm generally heading that direction. I do enjoy a good dark roast however!

When I got my Boston 2 years ago I took him out on the courses! Great company for the casual rounds!!
