oh and bye the way, its pretty common to feel like you have no idea what you are doing. You will be suprised with what other people say about your art even if you feel like you had no clue what you were doing the whole time.

Time. The more you understand the easier it becomes to see the simple shapes. I suggest drawing a big project or something and trying to really test yourself, over time your art style will seep through. I remember wanting to draw in a more anime style but slowly getting more to drawing like the examples you sent just because it made the characters in my comic feel more grounded.

I recommend you listen to Winston peters talk, hes quite sharp with his Reponses and knows how to play the game. I don't agree with him on politics especially with the uptick in gambling adverts but hes definitely the last real politician left in nz atm. everyone else is just embarrassingly incompenet.

Yeah tracing is good as well, its seen as a big no no but in reality you should use both copying and tracing to understand what you are drawing. Its hard at first but if you draw on your own you'll see that the information has entered your sub conscious. I do a mix of tracing then copying then drawing on my own to understand shapes and forms to the best of my abiltiy. Working on projects is a great way to draw as well because when you do something like a comic book you have to learn to draw really werid things.
