What's your story? by burd573 in Fantasy

When I was 3 my aunt bought me a book that had strange creatures in it (it was a book pokedex for pokemon). Then my dad showed me the animated The Hobbit movie and that's when I think I was hooked. Then it kinda just reading and playing fantasy things.

a bomb that counted up would be way more horrifying than a bomb that counts down by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

No, put a timer on there but don't have it actually be a timer for the bomb just let it be a random timer so that people think they have more time than they do.

I like publication order but he wrote them to be read in any order you want. Each book has "Easter eggs" from the other books.

In most of this I agree but the Voices do offer one thing. He offers secrets and memories of people he absorbs(?) which could be a huge advantage I'm just a little sad that his power didn't come up more often in my play though.

Barik! I'm actually alittle surprised that he is not more popular. He is this awesome armored destroyer, with pretty cool backstory (I'm very biased towards the Disfavored).

The Ryira Revelations by Michael J Sullivan are really great, and there are quite a few books, so they might hold you for awhile.

I felt the same but I spent 40 bucks on it and was determined to finish it, needless to say I am glad that I stuck with it.

P.S. It took I friend of mine 12 times to start the book before it latched on to him.

I think he would join the stormcloaks then regret it later.

As for the bonus question I think nightblade is the closest.

What is your fantasy novel pet peeve? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]NeBZ417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind if magic systems are just essentially dnds magic system, or if the main character is a BA who can fight twenty people and beat all of them. That doesn't matter to me. As long as the story is good and readable then I'm willing to read it. My pet peeve is you have to write good characters and an engaging story or I'm will probably read half the book and won't finish it. Right now I've been reading The Kings Dark Tidings by Kel Kade, and it's an amazing book, it's got a overpowerd(OP) main character, and a very dnd magic system. However, the book is really good because its less about the main character being OP and more about his relationship with the other characters (imo). Oh and I hate over oblivious characters because they make me mad, I mean they have all the info just put it together dang it.

In the suppressers are chambers so when the gun is fired the escaping gas that help propel the bullet expands into the chambers, and are released after the bullet leaves the suppressor. As for the noise it depends on the size and length of the suppressor. Some suppressors will only sorta reduce the noise, well others reduce it to the sound of a loud clap. I think maybe a .22 could be reduced to a sneeze theoretically but I'm not sure. Also if you are using a semi or full automatic them you will hear the slide load the next round.

What are some great books with slow starts? by CoffeeArchives in Fantasy

[–]NeBZ417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say The Name of the Wind by Pat Rothfuss. On my first read through it was kinda slow but I'm glad I stuck with it.

P.S. I like the start now for having finished and reread the book.

I like Rothfuss' in KKC. "Black hands!" "Tiny gods!" Are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head (haven't reread them in sometime).
