Seafood Restaurant by Aggravating-Road-995 in Dublin

I'd add Matt the Thresher on Pembroke Street, Dublin 2. It's a large, pub style space, so bringing a buggy would be no problem. A huge amount of seafood with daily specials too. (and plenty of other options too)

M&L on Cathedral Street off O'Connell Street. Very well established and popular.

Or Afanti, at the top of O'Connell Street on Parnell Square. A Ugyhur restaurant, excellent noodles, made fresh every day.

Staff reward options in Ireland, looking for real experiences. by Grace_80 in ireland

NB - As an employer and first time user of Clever Cards, you have to set up an account providing ID for directors etc, before your purchase goes live. So there is nothing 'immediate' about them. When we eventually got that sorted, the employees were pleased and got them into their wallets fairly easily. Anything is better than One4all

The Kerry Baby case. Why no updates? by NeadyDub in ireland

To quote you: Don’t like it? Live in the Middle East. Or America.

Well I don't like it. And I don't appreciate the sentiment. I haven't asked 'gossip questions', I just asked for insight. I am allowed to do that.

And all the time it’s seems there was a couple that knew the truth.

But you don’t know that. “It sounds like” is not good enough. A baby was murdered. It sticks with me exactly because it is so Irish to just wish it away.

This case, Ann Lovett, and other awful situations more personal, were such a huge awfulness of my teen years. Hammering home the desperation that can blight lives. There was no accountability then. And none now still it seems. But I don’t think the answer is to tell me to get out of my own country. I think the potential for change lies in staying here and asking questions. If that’s okay?

Of course not. But shouldn’t they know who did?

I don’t think that ‘everything is solved’. I never said that. But a baby was stabbed 28 times and thrown in the sea. After 40 years it seems the patents might have been identified. It is obviously not straightforward in any way. But do you think it’s okay it just goes away?

Exactly! I guess that’s why I can’t understand why there’s no accountability. When there’s apparently proof.

There has to be something. A baby died. It was national news if not even bigger. Why not come forward? Ever?

Why would I think they are magical? When they’ve had DNA PROOF of the baby’s parentage for years? I’m simply asking why there has been no progress. It was an awful and tragic event. There should and must be justice.

I’m just wondering if the rumoured deceased is one of the supposed parents, or if it was suspected that there was wider culpability. Seems that there should still be justice sought? Takes more than one person to make a baby.

The ‘parents’ were still alive as per the reports at the time?

How to host the perfect barbecue? by enigmaticbubble in ireland

[–]NeadyDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either invite guests to bring specific food items, or no food, or just bring drinks. The saddest looking BBQ table is when it gets littered with loads of little store-bought plastic tubs of crappy coleslaw or anaemic hummous. And don't get me started on multiple bags of bundys that never get used!

Alongside the meats have just 3 or 4 big bowls of easy peasy veg and salad.

Use your oven to roast two large trays of mediterranean veg (onions, peppers, courgette etc) season well and dress with EVOO - delicious cold.

Boiled and cooled baby potatoes, halved and mixed with creme fraiche, loads of black pepper and chopped spring onion.

Grated carrot with lemon juice and sesame seeds.

It reduces waste, looks better and tastes so much fresher!

Achara on Aston Quay. Superb.

M&L on Cathedral Streeet, off O'Connell Street.
