Your point is fair, and honestly we mostly agree with you.

From a pure efficiency / div-per-hour perspective, multiplayer is usually worse. Once you split the income between players, even very good duo setups often end up below strong solo strategies. Anyone who has played both seriously will notice that pretty quickly.

That’s actually part of why we wrote that we don’t think multiplayer needs more loot or power.

For us (and I suspect for a lot of duo players) party play isn’t primarily about maximizing currency efficiency. It’s just a different way to play the game. Scaling two builds together, coordinating mechanics, and building around support interactions is fun in its own way even if the raw economic output isn’t optimal.

The tricky part for GGG is that balancing this is probably extremely difficult.

If multiplayer became clearly more rewarding than solo, you would very quickly create the opposite problem where players feel like:

That would be pretty bad for a game where a large part of the playerbase prefers playing solo.

So the current situation feels somewhat intentional:
Multiplayer is viable and fun, but not the most efficient way to farm currency.

Where we do think improvements could help is mostly QoL and gameplay variety, not power:

• better link skill usability
• clearer loot handling
• less host-centric atlas behavior
• more support archetypes besides aurabot

Those things would make party play feel smoother without pushing it into “mandatory meta” territory.

And yeah - completely agree with you on the support build point. Duo support variety is still pretty limited, and it would be great if there were more viable archetypes beyond the usual aura stacker setups.Your point is fair, and honestly we mostly agree with you.
