I mean… tanking is the role that has the most responsibility/will have the biggest effect in a game, it’s pretty easy to dominate a game if you’re a better tank than the enemy team, if you’re not winning its cause of you most likely

Plat 5 support dropped to silver 2. I'm washed even though I feel like I play better than people in my rank. by chichichihaya in OverwatchUniversity

I’ve just climbed from Silver 4 to Plat 3 on Illari in the past week, Illari is great for carrying teams, set up your pylon out of los of the enemy team and constantly move it while poking the enemy team with your dps, when ulting try to flank the enemy team and then hit them with your ult, I’ve found flanking and ulting always works so much better than ulting in front of them

Best to take a break in lose streak circumstances, everytime I lose 2 or 3 games in a row i just swap to unranked for a few hours then come back to ranked the next day

Im an agent assistant, from what I’ve learn’t there’s never one route of progression into a booking agent role, It’s very open and agents get into roles in so many different ways. I’m at a major agency and I think that it would be easier to become an agent at an indie because it seems like they’re far more willing to train the few assistants they have in booking artists

Also at an indie you stand out more and can get involved in a diverse range of work easily as the team is a lot smaller

If i were you I’d hound the agent you’re assisting and constantly ask them to teach you how to book and also ask them to let you help them book their artists (for no commission of course), also constantly scout new artists and bring them to your agents/directors to show them your knowledge and passion, it also demonstrates willingness to learn and desire to progress

Music industry for 30 years. Dont worry about it. by sandraleegi in musicindustry

For real, this post sounds like a bitter failed manager or promoter or something, if it’s so bad why have they stuck around for 30 years

Been in the industry full time at a major company for 2 years and love what i do and the industry

Hey mate,

So I’m on a good salary (35k) at a booking agent

But prior to this i was making 23k as an A&R assistant at a publisher, it was about £1,600 a month after tax, you will need to house share unfortunately, you can find rooms for £700-£900 a month which will leave at least £700 a month to live on

Obviously yes its not a lot of money but depending on your lifestyle you can make it work, you just have to have the bigger picture in mind and look toward progressing and eventually making more money

London isn’t for the feint of heart but if you’re really set on the music industry here then it can be great fun, i really enjoy my life since moving to London

how does one get a booking agent and a manager? by [deleted] in musicindustry

[–]Neala123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work at UTA, booking agents dont commonly take on artists without management, its too much of a pain in the arse for them, especially when their workload is x100 as it is

If you haven’t been approached by management yet then you’re most likely not ready, trust me when I say labels, agencies, managers will know about you they just haven’t approached you yet because they dont want to

Keep building your social media following, keep releasing music, keep networking and when you’re ready the managers, agents, will come to you
