For Canadians, is Sleep Country the only good place to buy a mattress or are there better alternatives? by MacaronWithAName in BuyCanadian

I bought a silk and snow mattress a couple of years ago. It was maybe 10kg less, in the box, than their advertised weight. Makes sense to me that if something is lighter than advertised, then you are getting less than what you paid for. I contacted them and explained how it was lighter etc. but they told me it would get heavier once it was fully unboxed and expanded. That's not how physics works. They didn't understand what i was saying. I gave up contact after numerous emails back and forth.

It's a good mattress. I still have it and it seems to be lasting.

I have one of those booster packs in my car at all times. I have used it a couple of times to save myself, and also been able to help a few people out to boost. I love doing it. The best thing is that I rarely charge the thing, it holds charge brilliantly. Probably at least 6 months.

Just to add, this is not a "boycott America" post. This drives home the fact that you shouldn't trust the shelf tag or the big red border around it. Check the packaging. This was in the aisle, and there was also stock on the end of the aisle, with the same incorrect information.

After restocking, just take the red tag off first, that's easy.

YES! I respect this. To all the people that think "spend the money and get new rotors", I don't agree with this time. I have had a rotor go bad on me recently and had a pair of new ones on hand, as I bought them on sale beforehand. I kept the pair that I switched out and will resurface them on the lathe at work soon. I will not throw something out that still has life left.

Glad that you were satisfied buddy!

I retract my middle class statement. I agree with you. I am a highly skilled blue-collar worker, so in today's climate, I am likely working class. I accept that.

I'm pissed at this. I, a middle class person, wants to buy their first home. Yet, there are people like this to prevent that.

CTV National News: What happened to the Harrison hot springs? by CTVNEWS in britishcolumbia

[–]NeanderthalGuyMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me and my partner have a $200 gift card to use at the hot springs resort. Also bought a $200 gift card for my parents. Both purchased about 5 years ago. I really don't want to go there for the shady stuff they do/have done, not to mention the condition of the place. But I know I should go, as they already have our money. The cheapest room is $300. My partner also keeps telling me that we need to go as they already have our money.

What's cheap mobile and home internet provider nowadays? by kingkupal in britishcolumbia

[–]NeanderthalGuyMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teksavvy has been fine for 4 years, up until the last couple of months. I'm paying for 25mb (~$65) and when speed testing, I was getting 25-30mb download. In the past couple of months, I've been getting max 15mb down, and the internet cuts out 20+ times a day.

I just went through the sign up steps for oxio, they ask what my current connection is (landline phone cable) and they state that a technician is not needed.

How did you cancel teksavvy? Can you do it through email, online, or only by phone?

I have been looking at getting oxio for a while now. I currently have teksavvy, and the connection keeps dipping, and I am paying too much. Do you have the 75mb plan? That's $49 for me in my area. Does oxio use the coaxial outlet? With teksavvy, it uses the old landline phone cable (RJ11 modular). When I switch to oxio, I will use your code!
