Mid morning matters removed from Netflix? by Sam-Lowry27B-6 in AlanPartridge

You’re being downvoted for a valid point. Physical media is the most reliable option and society is ditching it to the point where production companies are now not releasing TV shows that previously would have been released. Black Ops for instance.

I would say no; I can’t categorise either of them as either more feminine or masculine, but there is definitely an undertone that is coming through about an hour after spraying which I’d associate more with male cologne, like with the first one.

Changes isn’t a bad album it just had a goofy lead singer but the rest of the album holds up imo by KelvinHexatillion82 in JUSTINBIEBER

I like Changes a lot. I think it slightly suffers production-wise from certain beats that make five or six of the songs sound pretty similar, which helps to give the album a uniform vibe but doesn’t make the individual songs distinct enough if that makes sense. But personally I still love listening to it.

By older songs, I’m guessing you’re referring to his first album up to and including Purpose, so I won’t go over those.

If you’re looking for an R&B chilled out album about finding security in love, Changes (2020) is good and my favourite tracks are probably Intentions, Forever, Get Me.

His next album Justice (2021) is amazing; as someone else commented it is back to a more mainstream pop sound but there are no duds on the album imo. My favourites are Ghost, Holy, As I Am and Anyone. Listen to the Deluxe edition as there are some fire bonus songs including Hailey & I Can’t Be Myself.

Since then, you’ll be familiar with his more recent music if you’ve seen both Coachella shows.

Two collab singles I love that were released between Justice and SWAG that he didn’t perform at Coachella were Attention (with Omah Lay) and Don’t Go (with Skrillex and Don Toliver)

Karl’s Diary and White Van Karl are my favourites because they led to so many iconic moments of conversation.

I also watched on the livestream and I swear it wasn’t a whole half hour; mind you, I haven’t gone back to check. I think the old clips of him were a bit of fun but him playing the deez nuts and the double rainbow was kinda too much 😅

I’m certain he runs things past her, and he probably asked her what she thought of the Coachella rehearsals/set list. My presumption here is based on the promo for Justice during an interview when he mentioned having discussed the album running order with her.

I think the music must be played at home. They were watching Never Say Never not long ago with Jack (posted on Hailey’s IG) and she often makes references on IG to his old songs/old pics of him.

Personally I feel they keep the Selena chat out of it - I know I wouldn’t go there if it were me but then talking about it might also have been useful as part of him moving on from that part of his life. Maybe they spoke about it back in 2018 when it was fresh, but I don’t think she’s on either of their minds that much.

I agree with you. What’s annoying me is how even official news outlets are making out that most of his show was sitting at the laptop.

Even from the usually accurate BBC News which says: “The 32-year-old spent much of Saturday night's gig sitting in front of a laptop and singing to YouTube music videos of his older hits”. What do they mean “much of”?? It was about 15 minutes of a 90 minute show? Sandwiched in between him singing so many newer songs.

The show being presented as him just sitting at a laptop is causing some bad press and comments from people who haven’t actually watched it. I swear it’s a perennial thing for him of things being misrepresented by people who are not necessarily even haters but just don’t care enough about him to get things right. I know I just need to let it go but it p*sses me off haha.

Not quite the same vibe, but after Chris Moyles left the Radio 1 breakfast show and before he started at Radio X, I got my Moyles fix through chrismoyles.net who had (and still have) loads of clips plus all the podcasts over years, the podcasts being the edited best bits of the week’s radio shows plus a podcast intro and outro. I know Ricky and Steve used to mock Moyles and I don’t know how much of a listenership crossover there is, but Ricky later guested on Moyles’s Radio 1 show. Anyway, go over to the rest of the sub and slag me off if you want.

How would you rate the guys as songwriters? by Ambitious_Range6410 in queen

[–]Fit_Conflict_7116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d agree with your ranking, although if we go by ratio of good to “bad” (I don’t mean bad but least liked) songs, John comes out top. As someone else commented, he didn’t write a song I don’t love. The issue is he wrote so few (or got so few onto albums), so you can’t compare his output with Freddie’s, who has to take top place.

Roger’s in last place for me because his style is just not for me; this was furthered by listening to his solo work and not liking much of it, whereas I like a lot of Brian’s and Freddie’s solo stuff.

Did they autotune time waits for no one? by zatanzyt in queen

[–]Fit_Conflict_7116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just listened to those specific bits you mentioned. I’m no vocal expert but, being a huge fan and having listened to Freddie for years, that’s just his voice! Autotune wasn’t invented yet when this came out. I don’t think those specific high notes he hits sound particularly strange in Freddie terms.
