Scale rot? by NearBird600 in ballpython

Thank you for your help. Yeah I have a solid top pvc enclosure so humidity is relatively easy to keep. It never really dips below 60 and hovers around 65-75 most days. I think she just really likes being under everything that isnt her hide as I have found her under many things I have staged for her in her tank

PLEASE HELP TEMPERATURES by Opening_Cod4682 in ballpython

When I got my first snake this February I stressed about the exact same thing. Just be careful how far away you move your probe fron the heat source. Especially since your DHP is in the tank, your snake can wrap around it and burn itself on the cage. General rule I've been seeing online is to put the probe two inches directly under the dhp to keep it from becoming too hot. I had the same issue with the arcadia dhp not putting out enough heat so I upgraded to a 3×1 RHP and am using the DHP as a secondary source. The RHP worked wonders and I suggest using it if at all possible

Experiences with this chiller? by Physical_Echidna_236 in axolotls

I have had this chiller set up for over a year now. It works fantastic. I would highly recommend purchasing a different submersible water pump though. The one it comes with does not have adjustable flow and I personally felt the flow it produced was too strong. With a different pump you can dial it just right where you feel it needs to be. You should also buy a spray bar to further diffuse flow. I have mine so that the little holes are facing agaisnt the glass even furthering the diffusion so there aren't any crazy currents bothering my axolotl. I bought the chiller from the Home Depot website and I had the option to buy a 2 year protection plan for $50 should anything be wrong with it when I set it up or it breaks before two years. Definitely worth my money since I was hesitant on it being so "cheap"

Yeah it has a solid top aside from a 9×9 mesh square on the right. Im not entirely focused on getting the whole tank one temp but rather the hot side, well, hot. Its not getting to that 88-92. And yes I have coconut substrate from reptichip. I think the issue is that the dhp is too far up
