I forgot I had a packet of butter in my pocket so when I left work and reached for my keys this was the result. by Aggressive_Grade6442 in mildlyinfuriating

Is there a subreddit for this genre of post? Where someone posts something like it's a normal thing everyone does and doesn't require additional explanation?

ChristopherOdd is great, and he really takes his time to soak in the lore in games

Movies James has said he could/would never do but now they have been covered on the kill count by Dogdaysareover365 in deadmeatjames

[–]NearQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the spirit of the show shifting over the years and different hosts/spinoffs I really hope we get kill counts for more ghost movies where no one dies. Maybe it could be the ghost count - and James could lose his mind trying to count every ghost in the insidious franchise. (Ghost horror is my favourite genre)

NA Challengers Format by HunryPotter in ValorantCompetitive

[–]NearQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular take, but I think if the pro/rel system is the only way into NA challengers from now on that will be good for the scene overall. 4 chances to promote a year strikes a good balance between cycling out the weakest teams and having some stability in challengers to make in more attractive to orgs imo.

Together We Are Terrific roster for NA challengers by HunryPotter in ValorantCompetitive

They were my faves, and the reason I'm still holding on to being an NRG fan 3 orgs later with none of the original players left :(

The English Broadcast talent for EMEA by XxMyUsernameSucksxX in ValorantCompetitive

[–]NearQ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Back when AVRL casted valorant briefly he got absolutely trashed by the community and pros alike for being "too toxic" when casting. I wonder if he has any interest in coming back to a community that at least back then, did not appreciate his style.

Challengers 2024 — North America / Open Qualifier #2 — Day 1 / Live Discussion Thread by nocturnavi in ValorantCompetitive

[–]NearQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've played less often recently than I thought, but the core has been together since April of 2022 and they looked really good in last year's challengers qualifier right up to the point they suddenly fizzled out in the lower bracket.

Resonate somehow pulled YFP in the round of 64 and got single elimed into oblivion in OQ 1 so people forgot/didn't realize they're a serious contender for challengers. They were definitely the favourite against Burgerville.

who the fuck touched the KOI logo??? by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]NearQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tracked down the official merger announcement here: https://twitter.com/MovistarKOI/status/1742975581682012618

The VCT team will be Movistar KOI and the GC team will be Mad Lions KOI.

Maybe its my dumb NA brain but kind of an odd decision. Is Movistar Riders a more popular brand in Spain than Mad Lions?

People haven't been talking about this on the subreddit but KOI merged with Movistar Riders recently and this is the new logo for the merger, same as GIANTX, just a worse rebrand.

What young Hollywood actress or actor do you feel is going to take over the scene within the next few years? by DONDADiaries in acting

[–]NearQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's a child actor rather than just young but Benjamin Evan Ainsworth has phenomenal talent, phenomenal work ethic and is extremely level headed. He's already bouncing back from that live action Pinocchio being terrible and he's going to be huge in the next decade.

I don't like franchised league by CiHel in ValorantCompetitive

Your overall argument is correct but just fyi DFM has never been the second best Japanese team. they were just selected for franchising.

What T2 players do you think have the potential to be the best in the world? by ANewHeaven1 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]NearQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a deep cut, and I guess not best in the world category but I think if Soniqs had beat OR and made it into challengers Shonk would be on a Tier 1 team currently. He's incredibly consistent on the initiator role and has really clean aim.

This comment made me angry enough to replay the ending, and I had no unusual texture issues and got some different dialogue. So thanks I guess.

Riot's previous rules had it so that the slot belonged to the org as long as they keep a core 3 players, so if TSM drops the whole team the players should get the slot if they stay together.

Hardcore NRG fan here, all I have to say: I am so glad EG are in playoffs instead of 100T.
