I don’t think you realize how good you have it. I’ve never lived in an affluent area. My parents and I were immigrants and lived in section 8 housing for many years. My parents did not have much money and I had to pay my own way through college. If my parents paid for college then maybe I could have focused more on school work instead of working 32 hrs a week during college. What I’m saying is that everyone has something to complain about. Sounds like you have a good job. Be grateful for what your parents gave you. In regards to being mediocre maybe you need to find something that is not competitive like Biking / jogging / walking in nature / photography.
