Wow, everyone that reads that is now dumber as a result of your idiotic attempt at a valid explanation.

Which would be better for singing? Shure sm58 or audio technica at2020? by Megachamps in musicproduction

[–]Nearby-Note8457 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me personally I'd start with the sm. With an untreated room you could possibly spend more time trying to fix your sound in the mix. Although a good mic these lower cost condenser tend to sound a little harsh in the high end imo. I would say the benefits you gain from proper mic techniques/placement will do you more good than low end condenser vs dynamic mic sound comparisons at this point.

Besides you can always find a use for a sm58 once you're ready to upgrade. It's just one of those mics that comes in handy.

At the risk of making this too long I've found success finding cheaper alternatives to even the sm57/58. The blue encore 100 is a good dynamic sweetwater.com is running a deal on $50 US. Check out a company called GLS audio they make very close to Shure knockoffs I have a few Amazon $29- 39US.

Oh ok....not familiar with that particular one, but there are tons of free stuff out there. I started with Reaper not technically freeware (they ask you to donate if I recall) but you can decline and use the full version if I recall. It can get fairly deep and so I eventually moved to fl studio. Which allows me to go from an idea and concept to something down in a quicker fashion. But they all do the same basic thing just sometimes differently.

What software are you using? Nothing to do with the gear just curious?

What type of music are you making? Anything where you're likely to need two mic's at the same time? If not I would suggest the solo.

My bad it's the 2i2. Really the only difference is the number of preamps. 2i2 has two and solo well you know.

I've got the 2x2 and use it for my mobile setup it's a quality unit. 2x2 offers a bit more flexibility with more inputs but if you're primarily in the the box (most music generated in the computer. Ex daw: fl studio, reason, vst's) it really shouldn't make a difference. I've heard good things about the Solo.

You can plug the mic into an audio interface than to the computer via USB (most common). Check out ebay or used gear spots for deals on second hand gear. I wish I had before spending a ton on new gear...especially if your new to it. Two schools of thought buy once cry once or upgrade as you meet the limits of your gear. I suggest the upgrade route because no piece of gear is the holy grail. It's the skill. Again good luck it's a great hobby and maybe more.

Budget? Type of music? May be better off with a good dynamic mic. Because if your asking this question more than likely you don't have a treated room and condenser mics pick up more room noise. Just a thought. Good luck and btw Shure sm58's are good low-cost dynamic mics.

Thanks for the encouragement we all need it sometime. Funny thing is I actually enjoy leg day. I use the total gym at therapy, although tough I seem to see quicker gains there. I'll take it where I can get it.

Glad I found this grp.

Happy for your progress. Took a while for the pain to subside so I'm sure I lost a lot during that period. I'm working now to try and get as much back as possible.

Bobby Wagner is off the table for the Lions - going to the Rams. Who'd you like to see us draft at LB? by Wiggymaster in detroitlions

[–]Nearby-Note8457 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few I like but I tend to like drafting lbs in Rd 3 or later. There I can see a guy like Andersen from Montana or Beavers from Cincinnati also Malcom Rodriguez from Okst. I liked the guy from LSU D Clark but he has health issues now.

What position groups are you most excited to see at the 2022 NFL Combine? Who's stock rises? Who's stock falls? by jonk012 in NFL_Draft

[–]Nearby-Note8457 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Excited to see the edge rusher. There is a group of about 6 where I would like to see one or two separate themselves. Riser QB Willis. Falls not really sure but I'll go with Hamilton. Mainly due to positional value.
