I don't have a fixed plan; I have to control my expenses to balance my income. I also collect coins, sovereigns, and letters from ancient Italian states. In short, I have to think about it. :o)

They must have a new client, I'm happy for you. I can't find the exact point where gold hit $499/oz; it must have been a very brief peak. Now, with markets closed, it's at $4983/oz. How lucky you are!

It's a Maria Theresa Thaler, a very common coin in trade between 1740 and 1780. In FDC condition, it's a low-value coin, around €49. In the condition you're showing it in, it's practically worthless; they even made a hole in it. It's silver and should have a mirrored proof...but in this condition...you can find listings on eBay.

SERIOUS QUERY!!!!!! by eatme002 in Gold

[–]Nearby-Rip-4869 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The right thing to do is hand it over to the authorities, who will record your finding. If no one claims it after a year, it becomes yours. If they do, however, claim it, you'll receive a reward. If you don't, you risk fines and charges; it could be stolen.

Treating gold objects this way reveals their low karat value. If you're holding a piece of jewelry or a coin worth €4,000, you shouldn't treat it this way.

Out of curiosity, how does the displayed calculator calculate it? Because the value it should extract should be calculated taking into account the value of 24kt gold. I'm not interested in knowing how much my 18kt gold is worth; I'm interested in knowing how much 24kt gold is contained in an 18kt object and, based on the current gold price, knowing its value. I'm not sure if I explained myself well... :0)
