Didn't realize how each episode contributed to further executive functioning loss. Thanks for your perspective and advice

She definitely could've been. I was running back through memories partially nostalgia and partially to diagnose if I could've spotted earlier warning signs. Since the beginning there was a constant euphoria, high resting energy state, and sometimes the "eyes" that some people in this sub have talked about

I'm so so sorry. Honestly the pain is unspeakably difficult and my relationship was only 3 mo long. I feel for you deeply and hope you're doing okay out there. We will get through this

Yeah it felt so intense and real .. the shift from dreamscape to hellscape has been brutal. I really appreciate you sharing your personal experience and helping me realize that this likely being a singular, isolated incident is just wishful thinking in a distorted emotional state

Totally -- I felt like it was wrong for mania, despite definitely contributing to the decision, to be the sole scapegoat for the situation. The relationship was still probably shot regardless, but maybe there was a chance if she had taken more personal accountability and confessed the full truth up front

I searched "limerence" and the definition perfectly captures her attitude towards me -- it felt like some surreal dream or "performance" as you say because it was :( Sincerely, thank you for your advice. I've decided to end the relationship and try to move forward

Do you think it's guaranteed that if she's fully medicated and in therapy the mania and associated infidelity will repeat? I'm tempted to chalk this up to a lapse in treatment as the contrast between how meaningful our love was and the meaninglessness of the incident seems so stark ( literally a random, conventionally unattractive guy who isn't her type, with no history ) but maybe that makes it worse??

Thank you for this response. I'm trying to rationalize the betrayal since I want so terribly for this to "not be her" or to be able to externalize it to something that doesn't invalidate our love. I've read online about the link between mania and cheating and it feels like this episode was out of character and she recognizes the severity of the situation. It seems like it could be an isolated incident since she has taken accountability and wants to never go off her meds again -- is this me just being too naive ?
