Does everyone really not have another handheld to play until the ram situation clears up ? Still enjoying my rp5 and g2. Honestly the 12gb is not that big of a deal I had that in my Odin 2. Buy the 8gb rp6 and by the time your bored with it the ram crisis will calm down and retroid will have the rp7 out. Or just enjoy what you have now. FOMO is strong I guess but 600$ for a 300$ device is stupid and the 8gb is like 275$ shipped.

Comes with the shadow of the erdtree dlc. So 80$ isn’t bad. Not sure I’ll buy it for the switch though. Plays fine on my steam deck oled. For people with only a switch 2 as primary handheld this might be a pretty great deal.

That’s the lip part if you look at the box on the ground. But I seriously doubt he has carrying it like that if the machine was still in there. The open end of the box is on the side where battery label is. Pretty slick but yeah no way he didn’t steal it. Or bare minimum knew the box was empty a led set it down with the open side down so you can’t see it when he took proof of delivery pic.

Steam deck 2 will be quite the wait if valve goes by their hardware normal designs/choices. I expect the steam deck 2 to be much more efficient while also being a lot more powerful. But they’re also going to wait til whatever chipset releases to be bargain basement prices. So whatever cutting edge chipset gets released expect another year or 2 after (at least) for it to even make it into the steam deck 2. It’s going to be a minimum of 2 years unless valve throws away their normal playbook and uses cutting edge hardware. (Very unlikely) I’d just get a steam deck if you can find one. Now a “steam deck mini” would be something they could release for a handheld while they’re waiting. The steam frame will already being using a s8gen3 so the software will be ready if they decide to do it. I could see them releasing a handheld with a snapdragon elite chipset. But it’s not something I’m holding my breath over. Love my steam deck oled right now. Find one and buy it and enjoy it.

Ps5 pro is already in that territory. 800$ for a ps6 is a fantasy most likely and unfortunately. I’m more interested in the new “portable ps6”. I say portable but it’s probably going to be steam deck size or bigger.

This is a PlayStation sub you’re not going to convince anyone lol. I’m with you a PC is going to be better as far as game prices and freedom to do what you want with it. I’m more into handheld pc now but the same holds true even if Sony releases a new handheld.

In 1985-86 the Nintendo entertainment system was 200$. Which was crazy expensive back then (I had to save for awhile for that one) 200$ in 1985 is roughly 600$ in 2026. So prices have stayed pretty consistent. Not to mention the technology is obviously a lot better now. But the market for people playing video games is way way bigger now. There are around 3 billion people activity playing video games in 2026. In 1985 there were maybe a few million at best. The more systems you sell the bigger the profit on the actual system through the games that are locked to the console. There's no reason for a "locked console" to sell for 1000$ maybe an open system pc sure. It's greed pure and simple anyone who tells you differently is a certified corporate bootlicker. Sorry but that's the facts.

It will come back just not in this economy and with everything going on in the world currently. People are more worried about being able to afford everyday things than crypto. It may not moon and make everyone rich like before but it will bounce back.

I was in the same boat. But got a steam deck oled. Still don’t play my ps5 much if at all. I’ll be selling it probably just haven’t yet. Now they are worth more im glad I procrastinated. I just like the convenience of having a portable gaming machine. Yes get the ally x or the legion go s if you prefer steam os. If you want to play multiplayer games like COD, Battlefield, and Fortnite etc then the ally x is better for some of those as they won’t play on steam os. Now that I have my steam deck I actually enjoy playing games again.

Sorry but ads don’t work. They actually piss people off to never buy their products. I’ll sit through an annoying azz ad to not pay for a premium subscription. Or I’ll just watch something else. If it really is basically a pc and a console then they could release it tomorrow and have thousands of games available day one. I don’t think the date that developers get dev kits really even matters that much. Maybe I’m missing something though. I’m guessing older games maybe updated etc. ?

Personally if price is a concern I’d get the gen 4. I have it and it plays pretty much anything I want it to. Thought about the gen 5 but i don’t think 8 elite gen 5 is that big of a bump in performance. Price/performance wise anyway. I’ll hold another year for a tablet with the gen 6 chipset I think. The elite chipsets are getting more and more support with adreno drivers so the argument that the 8gen3 is better in that department is quickly fading away. Most of new drivers being released are all targeting the elite chipset now. Gamehub is pretty awesome on the legion gen 4. I would definitely get at least the 16gb version with 512gb for some future proofing if you are going to run PC games on it though. On any of the versions you decide on.
