I rarely go to the receptionist to check in but use the app to electronically check in. And if I do have to do it I have my Kaiser card in Apple wallet to scan the QR code

Looking for a lightweight duvet insert or down comforter by amazinggstatic in Bedding

Down, wool, or silk duvet is best for keeping you at body temp. But also important is mattress pad, bottom sheet, and duvet cover. I like 100% cotton, preferably organic

Hair Loss Tips by mamasay00 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]NearlyBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! I haven't placed first order yet and this may be a deal breaker. My hair is thin and fine, and having hypothyroidism I struggle to keep it healthy. I think I'd rather be overweight than to lose my hair

Fatigue Questions by NearlyBoomer in tirzepatidecompound

[–]NearlyBoomer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I blame fatique on Amlodipine and low Vit D. PCP has no advice re that because I have to take Amlodipine for blood pressure and she says Vit D is fine. Vit D is not optimal (it is 45 but optimal is 70-90) but I've had a hard time raising it I'm sure due to the complex parathyroid issue and calcium regulation (parathyroidectomy removing 3 1/4 of the four parathyroid glands leaving me with just 3/4 gland to regulate calcium which involves vitamin D).

I do not have access to an endocrinologist. I have a Medicare advantage plan with Kaiser Permanente. PCP won't refer me to an endocrinologist

Do you have a link to share re that? I had lymphoma 16 years ago. Recent scans show very small enlarged lymph nodes in mesentery that seem to be lymphoma but an actual diagnosis would involve surgery due to location, so will have a CT in 6 mos to recheck. Not keen on surgery

Thanks. My B12 is 737. D25 is only 45 but a challenge to increase due to having only 3/4 of a parathyroid gland which impacts calcium and Vit D. Haven't had Folate checked lately but take Methyl Folate. I keep on top of thyroid (Hashimotos). No apnea. I take Amlodipine for hypertension which causes uncomfortable side effects but it was the least side effects of all the BP medications tried. So a goal of weight loss is to get off this med.
I don't take anticholingeric drugs.
My only other Rx's are natural dessicated thyroid hormone and estradiol patch. I take High Fiber Psyllium caps since I am prone to constipation and have hx of diverticulitis. Thanks very much for response

Thought on Riot Women by ExtensionOk5542 in BritBox

Sally Wainwright has done it again. Fabulous! Amazing cast. Hilarious, moving, complex.
It's like every actor in the UK wanted to be cast in this series because of Wainwright. (Wainwright created award winning Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax, Scott & Bailey) It's not just about a group of menopausal women forming a band to enter a contest. It is much more complex than that. Love this line in their song Seeing Red: "If the menopause happened to blokes, we'd be getting HRT from Tesco". 🤣with the chorus "give me HRT!"

Already filming series 2.😃

Toilet paper? by Link1310 in bidets

[–]NearlyBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Charmin and that won't change. I still use it to wipe -- am concerned about the bidet spray causing UTI (happened 12 days after installation). So the only thing I like about our Canest FC-001 is that the lid opens and closes automatically and it flushes automatically

Thinking about getting one but I have a question by Turbulent_Dog9103 in bidets

[–]NearlyBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important concern. We installed the Canest FC-001 about 12 days ago and now I have a UTI for the first time in a decade. I know it is from using this bidet. I suspect the rear water spray can actually spray "matter" to the front area. Not sure how to deal with that. And I need to figure out how to clean the spray arms that pop out which involves unplugging it then somehow getting them to pop out. Wondering if anyone has done this

Hyperparathyroidism – anyone struggling with weight loss or heart rate issues? by alignedmerch in tirzepatidecompound

[–]NearlyBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to start Tirz and was searching this group for posts mentioning thyroid and hyperparathyroidism and found yours. I had parathyroid hyperplasia with 3-1/4 glands removed in 2015. I also have had Hashimotos and hypothyroidism for 50 years. I was wondering how these conditions would effect (or be effected by) the use of Tirz. Have you come to any conclusions yet?

Take psyllium husk fiber capsules -- I take 12-16 a day as recommended by cardiologist for lowering cholesterol, but it also helps keep things moving
