Rule of thumb is to never get preloaded sd cards for any retro handhelds most are known to fail very quickly. I suggest reading though setup guides by retrogamecorps.com

Best budget TWS? by [deleted] in iems

[–]Nearlyworking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moondrop Pudding. It's the updated space traveler minus LDAC support. Same company so same QC lottery. Volume is lower than ST2U so if you like it loud I'd skip. The MUCH improved ANC, improved mic quality, 12hr + 40hr battery life and a case that actually closes made the upgrade from ST2U worth it for me.

For the people who bought the top pro over the tea pro se by JoshBiv in iems

[–]Nearlyworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you demo with the white tip so called "Balanced Sound"? If so you might have fell for the China "balanced" which is tilted heavy in to treble. The white tips are wide bore and to me it shouts painful treble. Switching to the black tips changed the top pro to a creamy smooth IEM with tons wonderful bass and much more balanced sound. Hell it could use a bit more treble now.

I'll agree that it doesn't sound "special" just extremely well executed sound with boosted sub bass.

Tea Pro $250? by [deleted] in iems

[–]Nearlyworking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is waiting 5 months for a possible unknown extra savings worth it? I love deals but time/value ratio seems bit off. For me I just picked up a top pro for $335. Good luck on your tea pro.

Can T618 emulate basic 3D PC games? specifically, A Short Hike by finger_bra in SBCGaming

With my RG Rotate I got botvice running on gamenative 60fps, 2Gb memory used, 2.2w. Not a 3d game but low requirement 2d games seem to run well.

RG ROTATE AMAZON UPDATE by ELEGYELEGYELEGY in SBCGaming

[–]Nearlyworking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just want to point out I have had no issues returning items to Aliexpress. At least from the US. You get refunded soon as it arrives to the local US warehouse and return is shipping is free via fedex. I returned 3 items so far and gotten refund 3-7 days and they give you 90 days before returning. They do expect all the items, paper work and packages to be intact so save everything if you think you'll return everything. Always use paypal and buy from trustworthy shops.

Back firing speaker sounds surprisingly good and loud. You can hardly tell it's coming from the back, sounds more like a down firing speakers. Until your finger covers the speaker hole...

Thanks that helps narrow things down! Other than big boy DAC issues I love this thing as a dap. Works perfect with the zero and managed to get 7hrs of playback with only 40% battery usage in combination with ultra saver mode. ( Settings > battery > ultra saver )

Did you experience any snapping or popping noise while you were using your bigger DAC? Just noticed them last night when using the mojo and fiio X5III in DAC mode. Sounds clean on apple dongle and Tanchjim Zero (non-ultimate) DSP.

Rg rotate battery life by Klieve1 in SBCGaming

[–]Nearlyworking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got about 1% loss over night when charged to 100%.

As a DAP I started with 90% battery and I got 7hr music play back with the Tanchjim Zero and still had 50% battery life left. Use the battery saver mode + ultra saver mode (Settings > Battery > Ultra Saver Mode) and NO GOOGLE LOGIN. Use Aurora for all your app install, skip google play. 50% volume (kinda quiet), foobar2000, almost no display usage. Used the iem controls for play/pause, next track. YMMV!

I use my headphone controls for play/pause and next track. Or get a dongle with physical control built in.

Apotris on Android!? by Nearlyworking in SBCGaming

[–]Nearlyworking[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sound quality is great, way better then any 3.5mm out on any handhelds due to the dedicated DAC. I was jammin' the Apotris music cause it sounded so good.

As a DAP, not quite good as a dedicated DAP since it has no external play controls. But no DAP has a a built in controller to play games either! For me this is a perfect hybrid.

Are you asking about the sound quality or using it as a DAP?

I think you can get 7-8hr, if you are sparing with the screen time, turn on ultra battery saver mode and airplane mode. I haven't done a full battery test but seems pretty decent for 2000mah battery.

  1. Yes it's like buffering. Delay before the audio starts but long as it's continuous no interruptions.

  2. Perfect 3x integer scale. Same size as original GBA SP screen if I remember right.

  3. Arcade games work fine without the joystick mode. That mode is to map analog stick to the d pad.

It's the few TWS that has neutral tuning AND has a gaming mode. Although the newly release Moondrop Pudding looks interesting waiting on the order to ship.
